The site covers all significant information regarding heredity and traits of offspring with emphasis on the genotype and phenotype of an organism. It is exactly what I needed for the topic I’m researching for. It actually covered most of the necessary information that I need. The work was written in 2004. Although it was nearly five years before, the information is still relevant because the type of information doesn’t change.
It is fact that doesn’t eventually change so it is up to date and it matches information from other sources. The author of the site is Richard Lewontin. He biologist particularly dealing with genetics and has written many journal articles regarding Genetics. He also received many recognitions including Sewall Bright Award which is given by the American Society of Naturalist. The content of the site was primarily to information regarding heredity and some explanation of the human traits based on their gene type.
Stanford University sponsored the site so it is probably intended for student audiences. It was probably written to make an easy access to such information. The work was not intended for all audiences because of some scientific terms used that were not defined within the article. I could understand the article because I have a background of the topic and I was just looking for supplementary information. But, it may not be an easy read for other people.
