I have never been the person that liked English class, yet alone writing about my experiences in the class. Honestly I would rather try to figure out the most difficult differential equation problems than sit here and write. Now that’s one thing that I could do. MATH! Math has always been my strongest subject. Now I’m not saying that I’m terrible in English, because I’m no. I would just prefer to do something that I like to do. I’ll just be honest even though its cleat to see I just don’t like English and writing. It’s weird because I can sit and read religious books all day, but nothing else tends to hold my interest.
Then there are some people who seem like they are enjoying the assignment and others that are fighting sleep. I’m not doing either. I’m not doing either. I’m just hoping the light will come on and I will be able to figure out what I am going to do this essay on. So far we have read three different “Literacy Narratives” and I still don’t feel inspired by anything that I have written. I try to think of something that will catch my attention, but I can’t. The more I write the more I want to put this pen down and pick up my Bible.
My Bible seems to be the only piece of literature that would cause me to read on and get my mind going. This is really irrelevant in the fact that this essay would be about something that I wrote. I didn’t write the Bible but I can expound upon that. Just like people that become engulfed in their short stories, poems, novels, magazines or whatever they night read. I become entangled in the different books, chapters and verses that the Bible contains. The bible has sixty-six different books that make up its body one of those books which is the book of Psalms, is really five different books in one. Written by five different men who showed praises to their God by expressing it in poems, songs and just words of encouragement.

The Bible is a book that has many different lessons and examples of faith and trust. Every time I open it up it seems like I learn something new about God and my relationship with God and as it pertains to others. Now I’m just paraphrasing, but the bible says how can you love God and your relationship with your brother is not right? Basically saying you express your love for God in many ways and one of those being the way you treat your neighbor like their life and existence is meaningless. It’s just little stuff like that, that can make the biggest difference. Sometimes we as people become fixated on the big things and disregard the quote on quote “little things”. There is a perfect scripture in the Song of Solomon that deals with this exact thing Song of Solomon 2:14 says, “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines; for our vines have tender grapes.” You are so busy trying to keep the birds out of your garden with a scarecrow that it never hit you to put up a gate to keep all the other smaller animals out. They are the ones who will essentially destroy everything that you worked hard for. We tend to try and hid the big things that we have done with little lies, but once you have told one lie you have to tell another to back that one up. Then another to back up the first two, it’s a cycle that continues until the truth comes out and then a situation that wasn’t so big at first is just a big headache now.
It is really amazing how much wisdom and knowledge you can obtain just by reading God’s Word. I myself was raised in the on the church. Always learning about the different stories of courage, faith, victory, defeat and patience. When you read these different verses of scripture you can feel God trying to talk and reveal something to you about yourself. When He begins to try and op. To really open up your understanding, the particular situation that you are dealing with weighs heavy upon your heart. One story that always moves me and makes me re-evaluate my situation is the Story of Job.

That later on goes to say that God saw Job as being a perfect man in his sight. As a result of that fact Job was blessed. He was rich, had seven sons and three daughter, all kinds of flocks and herds of various different types of animals. He had servants and land; now these are things that portrayed a person’s wealth back in those days. Job had everything that he could ever want and didn’t need for anything.
Now the Devil came before the presence of the Lord to ask if he could tempt his servant Job. The Lord asked Satan why he wanted to tempt Job. See the Devil knew that God thought Job perfect; he wanted to get Job to curse the name of the Lord. The Lord knew that Job was faithful and wouldn’t curse His name. So he allowed the Devil to tempt Job, but he said “You can take whatever you want but don’t touch his life.” So the Devil began to take everything away that Job possessed. Satan killed his children, robbed him of his cattle and riches, and destroyed his land. In the midst of all this, Job didn’t curse the Lord. For he knew that the Lord gives and takes away. Job’s wife and friends tried to convince him that he wasn’t deserving of the tragedies that recently came upon him and that he should curse God.
He continued to listen to the counsel of his friends and was almost persuaded to curse the Lord. That’s when God spoke to Job and reminded him of whom He was. After God was finished talking to Job, Job repented to God and asked His forgiveness. Then when all these things were done God restored all of Job’s possessions to him and doubled everything that he had from his land to his money, everything was doubled. God allowed Job to have seven more sons and three more daughters. Now that is amazing for someone to go through everything that Job did and not complain. He knew that God would supply his every need. Even myself when I read this particular story; I find myself being thankful for the little that I have and even the different situations that I may go through. If you are faithful to God then God will be faithful to you.

I find this to be very true indeed, because in spite of all my faults and things that I deal with I still believe that God will see me through. I haven’t always done the right thing or been the best example, but each day I strive to be a better person in God. Coming to know and understand God better through praying, fasting and reading His Word, I better understand what God is requiring of me. To be everything that God has called me to be is my greatest desire.
