Social Reasoning for women’s ill health First of all women are shown to be more likely to go to the doctors if they notice any changes in their behaviour or health.
This is because women are more open about their health where as men may feel like they have to be tough and not show any weaknesses. Men may feel like if they go to the doctors they may get stigma from their peers and they make wind them up about it. This could be because they have taken up the role of a housewife because they have kids and it may be easier for them. But because they may not socially engage that often they may develop a mental illness such as depression. Economic Reasoning for women’s ill health Women earn less money This can mean they are more likely to be in poverty This can lead to less pension being paid to women due to the fact they have paid less national insurance in their lifetime.
