What you wish to achieve in the document. This should be brief. E-Menu is an innovation to revolutionise the way in which menus are being digitalised in order to attract more and more customers for an unusual dining experience. It is focused on making the very best customer experience possible.
Background Information
Write briefly about the custodians of the system i.e. those whom you are developing the system for. If it is a company write what it does i.e. its core business. The system we are developing is to be used by hotels mostly five star hotels and restaurants where customers first take a table and then make an order.
Problem Definition
Why the custodians of the system need the system. What you hope to solve. The problem should be genuine and must hold water. Make us feel that there is need for whatever solution you wish to provide. Do not write why you want to embark on the project on this section. Hotels have been known of placing a menu card or menu paper on the table so that a customer gets to read it and select the food he/ she wants to eat while a waiter is noting down by his side. Mostly for financial reasons hotels seems to be mostly understaffed and getting the limited waiters’ attention becomes a struggle.
If not carefully maintained the menu papers wear away so quickly and sometimes get blown away from the tables only for customers to wait for a waiter to bring them one and after which they are not so sure of how long it is going to take for their meal to come if they want to enquire they have to shot waiter or ring a bell if supplied on the table or the most annoying sound. Also the fact that feedback is very limited after making orders is a problem for management to know of areas which need attention. Objectives

These are drawn from the problem definition. This is the most important part of the proposal. Objectives highlight what you wish to achieve. Objectives should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Real and should have a Timeframe i.e. SMART (Research more about SMARTness of objectives).
Paperless menu
Create a system that enables customers to give feedback on the service provided Reduce labour and administration costs
To develop a system with a centralised data base for all transactions To develop a user friendly menu ordering system
Reduce the waiting time period for customers
Functionality
Briefly write what the system will be doing. System modules and functions should be clearly outlined here. These might not be your final ideas but proposed functionality.
The system will display the meals which the hotel or restaurant offers for that particular day. Guests can self-order and customise their meals by looking through the menu and browsing through the pictures. With the tablet, they can press a ‘call for service’ button, type out dietary restrictions, give feedback and view the inventory level of items which are selling fast or out of stock
Justification
This is where you explain why you have proposed the solution. This is a ‘shallow’ feasibility study, where you explain why it is logical to embark on the project.
Conclusion
Closing remarks of the proposal.
