1. 1 Key statistics of Finnish Economy
Finland has a very strong competitive economy. Among all the sectors, service is the largest about 65.7%. After that, manufacturing and refining occupies about 31.4% in Finnish economy while primary production is 29%.
1.2 Labor force in Finland
There are about 2 678000 labor forces in Finland until October 2011 which has 1.3 percent increase while 2010 is 2644 000.
1.3Sectors of manufacturing
There are a lot of minerals in Finland; it is really big natural resources to supply the development of economy. But many mines in Finland have closed down; most of raw materials should be imported from foreign countries. Finland pays more attention to high added-value processing of metals; it is a developed method to push economy forward.
There are about 400 000 people employed in manufacturing industry. It plays an essential role in employment.

1.4 Main branches of industry
In Finland, the biggest sector of industry is electronics about 21.6%. Then machinery, vehicles and engineered metal products are amounted about 21.1 percentages. The forest industry is about 13.1 percent while chemical is 10.9 percentages.
In Finland, dairy husbandry is developed. So it is easy for us to have enough meat for dinner. Arable land area is only 9% of the total; most of the cultivation are fodder crops.
1.5 Main imports and exports
Finland’s exports are mainly machinery equipment, chemical products, metal, paper and cardboard, etc; imports are food, petroleum and petroleum products, steel, textiles and feed.
The main trade partners of Finland are the EU countries. Finland mainly invests to Sweden and other EU countries, foreign direct investment mainly from Sweden, the Netherlands and the United States and other countries

The most of Finland’s energy supply is from nuclear power (26%) and net imports (20%).
Hydroelectric power (16%) and combined production district heat (18%) are almost the same proportion in the power supply. And the rest of power is mainly from wind and solar power.

Actually, there are many famous companies in Finland. As far as I know, Nokia had been the market leader for many years in mobile telephony, although it is quietly down now.Mobile phones, Smart phones, Mobile computers and Networks are the main products Nokia provided. Nokia has its faithful customers all around the world.

2.1 My own observations and experience of Finnish
I have been in Finland for more than one year. Base on my own experience, I found finnish has several characteristics like most of finnish like tidy and cleaness, they like quietness, many of them are sport-lovers. Most of them are modest and careful, sometimes they even looks like very shy.
2.2 Environment during the time I have lived in Finland.
It is really good to live here. As you see in here, air is fresh and water is clean, trees are green and birds are singing. No wonder Helsinki can be elected as the most suitable for living cities in the world.

2.3 Everyday life
Finnish people are good and friendly. On working days, I study at school , talk with my classmate and teachers happily.
On weekends, I usually do some running, watching several movies, listening to music and enjoy my life freely.
3.4 Customers and manners
The most famous custom in Finland is sauna, it is so popular that you can experience that in any place all over the world.
I like sauna very much, for it is quietly good for my health.
Finnish people do well in all kinds of manners, they have many commons with Chinese culture, like respect the older, be ready to help weak man, and so on.
