Florida State University is more than just a world-class academic institution preparing you for a future career. We are a caring community of well-rounded individuals who embrace leadership, learning, service, and global awareness. With this in mind, which of these characteristics appeal most to you and why?
In order to prepare for a future career, I would need a good base of leadership and global awareness. Though learning is an important characteristic, you gain learning from the other features. With leadership comes learning, and with global awareness comes learning too. With that said leadership and global awareness appeal most to me for my future career because when I embrace leadership and become more attentive globally it’s a learning process.
First of all, how can one progress in life without a sense of leadership? The fact that Florida State University is a community that embraces leadership is an imperative attribute, and helps build a strong foundation for a student to progress in life. Leadership can provide a base for ideas and excellence, showing others that anything is possible. Even if it’s just leading fellow peers through a tough situation or leading myself in my own situations, it will have a huge impact on life. Also, I want to become an attorney and leadership is one characteristic that I must have in order to be successful. I can’t depend on others to help me when a case, or depend on others to do my case work for me. I have to have leadership and be able to lead myself and others as well. With leadership comes, great ideas, and with great ideas, come a bright future. Thus, leadership will help with anything in my future whether it is a career or any other life choice because in the end it’s what I want to do and not what others want me to do and I would need to lead my own life.
The Essay on Life Centered Career Education
Questions: 1. Saima has proved that certain career myths are not always real. After a careful analysis of the case, what do you think which career myths has she ascertained? Saima has ascertained two types of career myths. First one is all Saima has to do is picking a career and she thought that things will be set after that. Choosing a career is a difficult task, but there are lots more to do ...
Next, global awareness is one characteristic that sticks out to me the most because if I, or anyone, didn’t know what was going on in the world, then I wouldn’t have a better chance of being successful in the future. For example, what if there is a decrease in careers that are needed, and what if one of those careers were a career that I wanted to pursue? If I wasn’t attentive to global news, I would have a hard time finding a job in that career choice. I can’t just be aware of my own local surroundings, my own city, and my own state. It would be the best interest to be global aware because there may be other options out there globally, or there may be other roadblocks globally that could affect my future. Also, personally I like to be aware of things. I want to know what’s going on in the news and the fact that FSU provides that characteristic to better my future is a plus.
All in all, the reason learning wasn’t one of the characteristics that appealed me the most, and leadership and global awareness did, was that through each of the characteristics you are learning even when you don’t realize so it’s like you’re getting a bonus from FSU when they try to better your future.
