Using the textbooks, the University Library, or other resources, answeranswers each of the following questions in 150 to 200 words. Select a fossil fuel. How is this fossil fuel used What are the adverse effects on the environment Fossil fuels are most commonly used as a fuel source. Most types of fossil fuel are used in Cars, Industry in form of Petroleum and its product. Wood, Coal is used to generate heat. Although fossil fuels have lead to historical advancements those advancements have come at a huge cost to our environment. We continue to tell ourselves that we will cut our reliance on fossil fuels, and every year consumption increases. There are many promising new technologies only coming to light now. Many countries have come to see the benefits of wind or solar power such as central and South Americans increase in hydroelectric Fossil fuels may be the most readily available answer to power demands and fuel for transportation. I think that in the future our children would love to have clean air to breath and that is why it is our generations responsibility to ensure we take care of our environment.
Select a local or regional alternative energy resource. How might this resource be used to supplement or replace fossil fuels When selecting local or regional alternative energy recourses, I looked at the most common renewable power technologies around. These technologies include Solar, Wind, Biogas (such as found in landfills or waste water treatment facilities), geothermal, hydroelectricity, wave and tidal power. I would choose hydro electrical or wave and tidal power as a regional alternative energy resource. Hydro electrical or wave and tidal power could have a huge impact when it comes to supplementing or replacing currently highly used fossil fuels such as coal and petroleum based fuel sources. Some benefits of using these resources could be the generation of energy that produces no greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels and reduces some types of air pollution such as smog, Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide. It could also reduce our dependence on other types of fuels. It could also create jobs in manufacturing, installation, and maintaining these new energy resources. If you were given the option, would you choose to purchase your energy from alternative resources Explain your reasoning.
The Essay on Depletion of Non Renewable Resources of Energy
Eventually natural resources will become too costly to harvest and humanity will need to find other sources of energy. At present, the main energy source used by humans are non-renewable fossil fuels, as a result of continual use since the first internal combustion engine in the 17th century, the fuel is still in high demand with conventional infrastructure fitted with the combustion engine. Non- ...
