A very good morning to my beloved teacher, Pn. Fatirah Aziz and all my fellow friends. As you know, my name is Nurin Fatihah and I’m pleased to talk with you about a topic that is near and dear to you, “Friends and Friendship”. In life, everyone will meet many people that say that they are your friend. But you will make only a few true friends. What is a friend ?
Friend is a person capable of loving irrespective of whether he is being loved or not. Friendship can exist between the same sex man-man, woman-woman or opposite sex man-woman. It transcends age and could subsist between even an old man and a small boy. Human beings also establish friendship with their pet animals such as cats, dogs, horses, doves and parrots. Friendship also can be felt in familial relationship between father and son, mother and daughter, husband and wife and also brother and sister.Yet, more than friendship, love is the binding force in familial relationship.
A lot of people go through life with only a few friends. It seems that some have less than that. They have no one to call in time of need and difficulty. They are at the mercy of life, standing alone.
Others seem to have multitude of friends. Wherever they go people know them and like to be around them. They know exactly the person with whom to discuss the topics of inquiry and debate. Life is full of entertaining relationship because it is full of friends.
Friendship is a blessing and a friend is the channel through whom great emotional, spiritual and something even physical blessings flow. Friends can cheer us, when we are sorrowful or depressed. Friends can challenge us, when we allow ourselves to get beyond our reasonable boundaries. Friend can motivate us when we are ready to give in, and they provide for us when life falls apart.

Proverb said, a friend loves at all time, brothers is born for adversity. Therefore, Iwould like to advise all of you to focus on what you give to a friend, not what you can get out of a friendship. If being happy is your only motive, for wanting someone to be your friend, then you are not a real friend. Don’t get caught up in keeping tabs on who has given the most in the friendship. Give to your friend regardless of how much they give to you. Why not take a moment or two and thank someone today for being a friend to you.
May God bless you with all the friends you need and turns you into a blessing by using you as the friend to other. Thank you.
