Firstly I would like to say that gene technology is ethically wrong and certain laws should be made against it. With the use of gene technology, genetically modified food has been grown. This is not natural; its like adding something artificial into our once naturally grown crops. Medical tissue engineering is of recent research, and is appalling to see that this is being encouraged in the media because this is not a natural food source, it was been manipulated and modified. The aspect of gene technology that I most highly disagree with is cloning. Cloning is unnatural and should not be researched about because the research could be more harmful than beneficial. Why do we need genetically modified food? We have never had a serious shortage or any threat of a possible extinction of crops so we dont need genetically modified food now.
As with introduced exotic species, once genetically modified crops and animals are out in the environment they cannot be recalled; they could cause an entire ecosystem change that couldnt be reversed. The increased costs for keeping apart crops and animals will probably lead to higher prices for consumers. How does fresh meat that has come from a living animal eating luscious fresh food compare to a pieces of meat created on a pee tree dish? Well it doesnt. Fresh food is more than just the sum of parts, its natural and full of totally natural un-modified vitamins and nutrition. Isnt medical research telling us to eat more fresh food? Fresh food being natural unprocessed food from living organisms that grow and die of natural cause not produced and manipulated in a laboratory. Nothing can compare to the fresh flesh of something naturally grown, the laboratory made, artificial meats have not consumed fresh foods, and they are merely the result of a science experiment called medical tissue engineering. Cloning is dangerous and will cause many deaths in order to further research it.

For my take home assignment I took a look at the web sites of the Food and Drug Administration (web) and the National Institute of Health (web). The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a government agency whose job is to regulate food, drugs, medical devices and vaccines. It also regulates Animal Feeds and Drugs, cosmetics and things that emit radiation like cell phones, microwaves and lasers. ...
In the experiment of making the first living sheep Dolly, and the first canine through cloning cause hundreds of miscarriages and unwell animals, this isnt fair to these animals, which have to suffer the pain and sickness just because of our medical experiments. Cloning could become uncontrolled if humans reproduced themselves into a superior race. If you cant find out a way of conducting medical research without harming any living things then they shouldnt be carried out. Just because we can do this, it doesnt mean we should. Do we really need gene technology, isnt giving us the original unmodified, fresh and healthy meat from our animals, it cant give us naturally growth crops that where grown in the dirt. We have been coping fine without any modified foods, so we shouldnt feel the need to use them now. And Cloning is dangerous and harmful, and could become out of control, so laws need to be placed against it.

The Research paper on The Debate Over Genetically Modified Crops
The weather fit the mood of the day—overcast and gloomy. Sam, a work study student in the plant genetics department at State University, glanced through the hole that had been cut in the side of the greenhouse and then went back to sweeping up the floor. The greenhouse had been broken into overnight. Outside the vandals had spray-painted “Stop Genetic Mutilation!” on the walls of the greenhouse. ...
