Geography refers to land, water and mountains and any piece of island whether small or big. geographic information is used in measuring the length of forests, dry land, water storage in lakes and rivers and for several purposes of making land into a commercial property. Geography of land management is a huge subject in which civil engineers, geologists and technically skilled in land management are able to understand about land management.
Currently, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB) record all purpose of geographic information that represents Public Land Survey System (PLSS) in U. S. Each particular State has a survey boundary which is divided into cities, towns urban areas and rural areas. Geographic Information System (GIS) is also developed which is used by Federal agencies, local governments and private companies for respective areas of working.
Land has a special significance whether it is owned by government, commercial land, public land or in any other nature, authentication, certification of its use is a must as every piece of land that is within a State or within the frontier of a nation, must be taken into consideration for measuring the length and breadth of dry land in a state. BLM collects geographic information and updates GCDB Process Diagram which graphically depicts how GCDB data is collected and how this data is processed and electronically posted on Internet for distribution.
