If I was eighteen the candidate that I would choose to vote for in the 2000 Presidential Election would be George W. Bush. The reason that I would vote for him is because he is a responsible man, that would serve our country right and has the blood of an ex-president in him.
Now lets examine the issues and were both candidates stand. I would now like to start with abortion. George Bush believes in pro-life. He opposes abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save a women’s life. He also supports late term abortion restrictions, parental consent and notification. Al Gore believes in pro-choice. He supports abortion rights, late term abortion restrictions if the exceptions were added to protect a women’s life or health. Al Gore opposes parental consent or notification. I support George Bush because I do not think it is right to kill a baby even though you made a mistake in getting pregnant. The only exception would be if you are raped or your life is at stake. It is your own fault if you get pregnant and you should not be able to kill a baby.
The next issues I would like to discuss are their defense position. George Bush supports deployment of a large-system scale national missile defense systems, akin to Reagan’s “ Strategic Defense Initiative” This would cancel the ABM treaty with Russia. He would reduce the nuclear stockpiles to their “lowest possible number” without sacrificing readiness or security levels. George Bush would also order an immediate review of overseas deployments, but maintain longstanding U.S. commitments. He also intends to increase defense spending, including a $1billion to increase in military pay. Al Gore on the other hand supports a policy of “forward engagement” that includes a limited national missile defense system, which would not threaten the anti-ballistic missile treaty with Russia. He supports the use of Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) to set a course for military strategy, plus design an adequate force structure. I agree with George Bush because by reading his position. You can see that Bush is not afraid to go to war and is willing to break the ABM treaty with Russia to protect the citizens of United States of America.
The Term Paper on Mccormack 1992 Abortion Life Pro
During the past century abortion has become one of the most debatable subjects of controversy in the Western world. It poses moral, social, and medical dilemmas that involve emotional and legal considerations. It has become one of the most intense and polarizing ethical and philosophical issues. The two defined fields of thought include those who are pro-choice activists and supporters of the pro- ...
I am now going to discuss their position on Civil Rights. George Bush opposes quotas and racial preferences. Al Gore supports affirmative action. Both George Bush and Al Gore oppose same sex marriage. George Bush supports the current policy “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Al Gore supports allowing homosexuals openly serve in the military. I think both candidates are good on this issues and I do not have a problem with gays. Gays should be treated like other people.
Economy and Taxes are one of the major issues. Both George Bush and Al Gore assume a 10-year $4.56 trillion surplus based on the Office of Management and budget estimates. George Bush proposes using the $2.17 trillion non-Social Security surplus. It will be used in the following manner; $1.3 trillion tax cut, $475 billion in spending on domestic programs, and $265 billion in reserve. He also supports increasing the child tax credit by $1,000. Al Gore supports increasing the child tax credit by $500. He also believes that he would eliminate the national debt by 2012. After looking over this issue George Bush shows that he is going to cut taxes by a large margin, which is better for my family and I.

Last but not least are their positions on Social Security. George Bush supports partial privatization of Social Security by allowing participants to invest a portion (2 percent) of their payroll in the stock market. He also supports the elimination of the Social Security earning limits. George Bush also opposes direct government investment of Social Security funds in the stock market. Al Gore supports using $2.2 trillion of the Social Security surplus to shore up the program and pay down the National debt, thus saving billions of dollars in interest. The Social Security surplus can be redirected to ensuring the solvency of Social Security trust fund until at least 2050. He also supports the elimination of Social Security earning limits, which the president signed into law on April 17, 2000. Al Gore supports placing a “lock box” on payroll taxes to prohibit trust funds. By reviewing these issues, I can see that Al Gore is too unrealistic and has too high of goals. Unlike Bush which is more sensible.
The 2000 Presidential election is going to be a tight race, but I think George W. Bush is going to prevail and become the President of the United States of America in the year 2000.

The Essay on Bush Frank President George
Dr. Justin Frank has written one of the most fascinating books that in my opinion is not getting to a large enough audience. Dr. Frank as a psychoanalyst has offered an in-depth profile of President George W. Bush in his book Bush on the couch. Psychoanalysis is a relatively new field of investigation, in which teams of skilled psychiatrists utilize the vast clinical data on world leaders to do in ...

The Essay on Social Security System
The social security system in the United States is a federal program that benefits the retirees and the disabled that was introduced in 1935. This program contains the disability income, public housing, retirement benefits, food stamps program and also the veterans’ pension. These benefits are not like any other government welfare programs. This is because the social security welfare system ...
