George Bush would also order an immediate review of overseas deployments, but maintain longstanding U.S. commitments. He also intends to increase defense spending, including a $1billion to increase in military pay. Al Gore on the other hand supports a policy of “forward engagement” that includes a limited national missile defense system, which would not threaten the anti-ballistic missile treaty with Russia. He supports the use of Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) to set a course for military strategy, plus design an adequate force structure. I agree with George Bush because by reading his position.
