High end, high rises, high expectations. Everything soars on this low-lying island called Singapore (Garden City).
Is it wise to set aside some areas as nature reserves when Singapore has limited land? I refer nature reserves to places where people are able to enjoy the nature and take photographs to remember Singapore as a Garden City.
Being a Garden City, Singapore should maintain its reputation by preserving nature reserves. Nature reserves bring benefits to the environment and Singaporeans lives. Nature reserves include trees that circulate the air around us. Also, it allows families to gather together for an outing. Nature reserves have become a very popular spot for Singaporeans to get close to nature and enjoy other forms of recreation with one another. Tourists enjoy nature as Singapore provides beautiful sceneries. Singapore would be associated with nature.
It also shows Singapore is keen in protecting the environment against pollution. By setting aside areas for nature reserves, it allow Singaporeans to understand what exactly conservation is and how important it is. Singaporeans would be aware that protecting the environment, they are able to save the world from global warming. Soon, other countries would also be keen in protecting the environment. They would learn from Singapore to prevent undesired disasters.
Nature reserves could also save lives. Roots of trees make soil stable and prevent soil erosion and soil leaching from happening. Thanks to nature reserves, there are only a few cases of soil erosion happening in Singapore.

Being a place where many people who hold similar ideas may gather and form a community, city life brings inspiration and innovation to many common aspects of life such as art, technology, and pop culture. Without such urbanized areas the world may not have been home to the ...
On the other hand, by setting aside land for nature reserves, Singapore is unable to continue her development smoothly. Since land in Singapore is limited, she should make use of the land purposefully.
The land could be use for other activities such as building more houses and building more factories. By building more houses and factories, it solves unemployment and housing problems in Singapore. More roads and infrastructures could also be built. This enables Singaporeans to get to places more conveniently. From this, Singapore could develop even faster and may even become a first world country.
Since land for nature reserves are used, land reclamation is unnecessary. Resources needed for land reclamation could be conserved.
In my opinion, I think that it is wise for Singapore to set aside land for nature reserves. As Singapore is hoping to become a vibrant city where tourists can enjoy their stay, nature reserves could be an ideal place for them. Singapore has already become a developed country. Nature reserves did help in one way or another. It also helps us remember not to pollute the environment.
