Summary for Budget
After high school I will be attending Mohawk Valley for Civil engineering. So I wanted to see what my life would be like financially wise by going with this career. For this web quest I chose civil engineering as my career. This careers starting salary would be around 60,000 dollars. I Figured up all my expenses that I would need to spend throughout the year and it left me with a little over 1000 dollars. Which really is not all that much considering what may happen during that year regarding hospital bills or something breaks down on your vehicle. But I figured 3 months of unexpected expenses into my budget so that would give me enough money if any of these problems occurred. For my house I chose a 2 bedroom house with a 2 car garage in the town of Dover, Delaware. This house would cost me a total of 280,000 dollars. If I did a 15 year mortgage I would be able to afford it with my plan. And if I did a 30 year mortgage it would be even easier. For a vehicle I first chose a brand new dodge ram 1500 but the cost for the payments didn’t fit into my budget plan so I had to look for a used vehicle. So I found the same truck for 15,000 dollars cheaper. So I had to get that truck. I have noticed by doing this web quest that sometimes you have to settle with what you need more than what you want to make it through life without putting yourself into debt.
