growth of new technology such as the Internet, computers, telephones or mobile phones. These objects are certainly the media that people consume in order to interact across the world while they are at different places. For instance, when members of multinational companies have conferences, they can discuss any issue or matter through the Internet, videoconferences or telephones. Notwithstanding, in the past, there was no any this new technology; therefore, members have to meet one another at the same places. This can make difficulty to people because it can surely waste people’s times and money.
Another significance of globalization is that it makes people have exchanging all the time including traditions, cultures, identities or religions. When people communicate with one another, they can exchange this information through mobile phones, the Internet and other electronic communication. These kinds of materials are the result of globalization system. Some people disagree that globalization does not have much influence on people, religious, cultures and so on, but as a matter of fact, it absolutely has much impact on these matters. It can change people’s thinking and behaviors. At the present, some cultures, attitudes, traditions have been changed little by little while other has been changed dramatically. The definition of localization
It is the process that adapts text and cultural content to specific group in specific locations. The process of globalization is much boarder then just the linguistic process of translation. The localization Industry Standards Association (2003) defines localization as “the process of modifying products or services to account for differences in distinct markets”.
The importance of localization in transnational communication
There are two main points in the importance of localization in transnational communication. To begin with, localization can protect each country maintain its original cultures, languages and customs. According to a research (2001), there are a number of languages and races that have been eliminated in the world recently. In other words, a particular country may not have any its own distinguishing so this appears that they loss the features of dressing, music, language and etc. However, the development of localization in transnational communication can lead people still seeing different cultures and languages and is an original one in the world. In addition, localization makes a particular culture or language stronger, mighty and powerful. Therefore, when people contact with the cultures and others, they can feel deeply and clearly. An example of this is people in the Middle East countries. They still have their traditional culture, dressing and regular systems while they have opened entry for foreign people for ages.
Secondly, localization do not lead people mislead and misunderstand with a country that they are going to communicate with. The most cases happened in international communication are when one language translate to another language; it could be different meaning. For example, when a company has a meeting, the word “table” in American English that means to put something on the agenda, but in British English it means to put something off the agenda. Therefore, if people can speak locally, they can easily understand each other. It is also applied in international business. When multinational companies operate their businesses in foreign countries, they have to do locally under global strategies. Otherwise they may not be suitable and enter a market that they want to go. For example, McDonald have been operated almost worldwide. Even though it has its international strategy to do business, they still follow each custom and culture in a particular country; such as they do not sell pork meat in Moslem countries.

In conclusion, this essay discusses the importance of globalization and localization in transnational communication. It is simple that both globalization and localization play the considerable role in term of transnational communication. Even though between the roles that globalization plays and the roles that localization plays are totally different from each other, sometimes globalization and localization can be combined unbelievably. McDonald is given as the example of this effective combine in the last paragraph. People or organizations that understand the process of globalization and localization well can obtain many benefits from the gaps of these systems and be survivors in the world of globalization and localization.
