There were and still is many instances where a group of people, acting together accused by others of crimes and tragically punished, even though they were not guilty. Stephen Vincent Benet, the author quotes, ‘… it is no stranger to hang a man for the shape of his nose or the color of his skin’. This event often occurs because of mod hysteria or peer pressure. The begging of this year, I think I was categorized for being someone I am not by my grade administrator.
She was always on my case and trying to get me in trouble, but I never really did anything wrong. I knew it was because of the kids I am friends with. They are trouble makers, but I am not. I did get in trouble once which I thought was really unfair. The grade administrator gave me Saturday school, but I did not try to fight from me, because she is authority.
I tried to do my best in my studies so I could prove to her that I was in fact a kid who cares about school, and that I am responsible. Only because my friends are not, it does not categorize me me as one. My plan of proving to my grade administrator I am try in my best and doing good was accomplished. I got all Bs and only one D, in my first term report. And also I was the student of the month for work study. I actually not only surprised her, but my-self also.
There are many times in society where a group of popple are accused for doing something wrong, but it really is not as bad as it seams. For instance, a group of kids is down a quiet, and let’s say rich neighborhood. By just walk in people might get suspicious, and think that the kids are up to something. Residents of the neighborhood might call the cops and say that they are being disruptive to their peace. Even though true ly they are not, but the cops were not there to see what happened, but of course they will believe the complainer. I have seen this happen many of times, in fact it has occurred it to me.
The Essay on Grade Inflation
What is the definition of grade inflation? The most obvious definition is that grade patterns change so that the overwhelming majority of students in a class, college, or university receive higher grades for the same quantity and quality of work done by students in the past. A corollary to this definition is the same GPA obtained by students with poorer academic skill. Another less well known ...
Another social example is a topic after something like the terrorism attack. In the Boston’s Copley Hotel there was a group of three or four Middle Eastern men occupying a room. Of course it was suspicious because of the whole incident, and they were accused of being the terrorists. The truth was that hey were not, but because of where they were and the whole they almost were arrested. Alot of these accusations happen everyday, because of suspicions. They do not really know, but still accuse because of the situation.
Humans in a way have to accuse, but we are not mind readers and know everything about everyone. So to find who did what, and what went where, people have to accuse and be accused.
