My fellow graduates of the wonderous Guilford High School. You may learn sooner than most generations the hard lesson that you must always make the path for yourself… There is no secret society out there that will tap you on your shoulder one night and show you the way It is your duty to be yourself, but don’t just merely be yourself. Be all of yourself. Don’t just live. Be that other thing connected to death. Be life. Live all of your life. Understand it, see it, appreciate it.
And have fun. Believe that if you make courageous choices and bet on yourself and put yourself out there, that you will have an impact, as a result of what you do. And you don’t need to know now what that would be or how will it happen because no one ever does. It’s harder to build than destroy. To build is to engage and change. Changes are like obstacles on a speed course. They demand your attention and require you to be present. They are coming… they are here….. and then they are gone.
It’s how life comes. Each moment is a procession from the future into the past and the sweet spot is always the present. Live in that sweet spot. Be present. Change will bring about many positive opportunities in your life; for instance, there are many more jobs out there than you have ever heard of. Your dream job might not yet exist, keep in mind that a mere twenty years ago the internet was only a nascent glimmer of hope, now people are able to sustain themselves using only it.

Each and everyone of us has a story to tell and share to others, life stories that may serve as an inspiration to other people. Every individual may have a life experience or a moment in his or her life that somehow greatly affects his or her whole life. We often share our own triumphs and travails, our victories and defeats, our happiness and despair that bring alterations to the present life ...
Think of educators like Doctor Salman Khan who are able to teach millions with tools as simple as MS Paint and Youtube, think of comedians like Fred whose youtube channel opened new lucrative doors for him, think of bands like The Shout Out Louds who rely solely on the internet for the distribution of their work, The internet was not a miracle for former generation, rather a sociatal progression, just as it opened many doors for our forefathers so too will similar progressions open doors for us. Throughout your career people will try to distract you.
Some will scream at you, others will say things behind your back, and a few feral animals will literally try to throw their stiletto heel in in your lane and trip you. Keep your eyes straight ahead and just run your race. Keep in mind the invaluble tools you have gained from Guilford High School. Life is filled with bullshit, busy work, and medial labor. Guilford High School has prepared us to deal with all of these detractions, it has taught us the best way to deal with such bullshit is not to try our best to make it shine, but to circumnavigate it all together so more pressing issues can be focused upon.
Guilford High School has taught us that never in our lives will someone willingly give us rest; remember that even though all the learning finished at the end of May, they insisted on not letting us graduate until the end of June because of some bullshit minimum schoolday requirement. Guilford High School has taught us that there will always be loopholes and that most of our superiors deal with similar if not identical bullshit. Remember that in spite of the constant bullshit each our lives have purpose, everyone has distractions but to be truly great you must see only the lighted path, follow that path to victory.
