Over the course of time, several discoveries have been made that have placed an impact on our world. Humans are not perfect and therefore the world is not perfect. Some do not realize how misplacing garbage can harm the environment tremendously. Simple objects like garbage can play a magnificent role and leave a mark on our environment. Who would even think that a person would have the patience and time to carefully observe garbage. Thankfully, one person by the name of Charles Moore took time and identified the harmfulness of disposing garbage improperly. Many may not be aware of who Charles Moore is. Moore grew up in and on the Pacific Ocean. His father was a sailor who took Moore along on his sailing journeys. There are over 46,000 pieces of plastic per square kilometer that place thousands of animals in danger. Many researchers believe that off that, perhaps another Garbage Patch exists off the coast of Japan. 80 percent of the garbage that floats in the Garbage Patch are plastics that at some point were on land. Our environment at one point or another was an environment that we all considered “green.” From green trees, to green grass, to colorful flowers, even the air we breathed seemed cleaner than ever.

According to Bartram editor of the World Health Organization, cyanobacteria is one of the leading toxins that is found in water. People may be exposed to cyanobacteria toxins by drinking or bathing in contaminated water. The most frequent and serious health effects are caused by drinking water containing the toxins or by ingestion during recreational water contact (Bartram).
Plastic contains a chemical by the name of polyethylene terephthalates which is a kind of chemical that majority of the bottled beverages are made out of. Plastic creates toxic pollution at every single stage of its existence; while it is being manufactured, its use, and especially its disposal. At times, animals end up swallowing these plastics making it hard for the animals to keep life in their habitat. Sea creatures should not be going through such a tough time due to garbage. It is mostly likely that sea creatures can become extinct if the Garbage Patch continues to expand throughout the sea. As society continues to throw out garbage, the Garbage Patch will grow more and more. First trash starts off at a manufacturer; from there it is transported to local grocery stores where it ends up in our hands. After we use the material, it is then disposed which many times flows into the nearby waters, and returns on our plates. Plastic is turning into a food chain pattern. The fish therefore are contaminated with every single plastic that ends up in the ocean. The plastic debris becomes food for the aquatic life or several times become victim due to the nets that plastic may create around these creatures.

It is unbelievable to realize that several human beings are dying from the lack of clean air in the environment.
