Gun Control
In the documentary, Bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore clearly states that the gun violence in America has increased over the years. Every day you can turn on the news and see where someone has been shot and killed by guns. The increase in gun violence and why it is happening over and over is astounding. One incident of gun violence and having a gun for the wrong reasons is the Columbine shooting. It has become very well-known around the world is and is still remember to this day.
Two senior students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, shot and killed 12 of their fellow students and a teacher and they injured 21 others. After they had gone into the school and shot people they both committed suicide. Harris and Klebold were trouble young boys. Before the shooting ever happened the boys created a blog. It started out as just any other normal blog. But after a while the entries that were being made started to become strange and out of the ordinary. There was one incident where the police were involved because of threats that were made on the site that were directed towards different people. The blog was basically a play by play of what the main purpose the boys had in mind, the Columbine shooting. We will never know the exact word for word reasons that these two young men did what they but we all do know that it was a terrible thing and that it was wrong. There are many young teens out that are just as troubled as these two young men were. Some may not go to the extremities that Harris and Klebold did, but when a person gets to a certain point and cannot take anymore something negative is bound to happen. There are many reasons why these boys did what they did but we will never know exactly, word for word from them as to why they did it. Obviously they had gotten to that point and there was no turning back once they had reached it.
The Essay on Saint John Bosco Boys Young Girls
John Bosco was born in Turin, Italy, on August 16, 1815. His parents were poor farmers, but his father died when he was two years old, but John was too young to know what happened, and it forced his mother, Margaret, to raise him along with 3 other children and taught them the importance of their faith. It was very hard for his mother so John went out and got a few little jobs to help his mother. ...
I believe that these young men were responsible for the incident that day, but not total responsibility goes to them. I understand that they were troubled, but all of the warning signs were there and someone maybe could have done something to prevent it all from happening. The parents and peers obviously knew that the problems were there but they just didn’t take that extra step to maybe help them some more. Maybe if they had just made a phone call or a visit or even asked them how they were then maybe they could have gotten their children more help. Also, the accessibility to the guns that were used in the shootings should not have been there. They received the guns from friends that had bought them for them. It is not a known fact but I believe that the people that bought the guns probably did not even ask for reasons as to why they needed them or what they were planning on doing with them. I also believe that if these different people had taken the time to notice what was going on and how the boys were acting then they would have taken different actions and tried harder to prevent everything.
There have been many different incidents happened that followed the Columbine shooting including the Virginia Tech Massacre. 32 were killed, others wounded and the shooter committed suicide also. You would think that after these horrible incidents happened that it would be almost impossible to own a gun, but that is not the case. Although the laws have become stricter and tighter I do not think that they are where they should be at. It would be nice if we could just get rid of guns all together and not have them at all, but that will never happen. But I do think that there should be three reasons and three reasons only as to owning a gun. The law should have own and carry a gun while on duty only needing it when necessary, hunters should have it because for those that hunt that is their food supply and it’s a need for survival and you should be allowed to have a gun in your home for protection but it must stay there and not be removed from the home for any reason. I think that if those were the laws for guns the violence in the world would decrease greatly.
The Essay on Gun Control People Lobbyists Laws
Gun Control Abortion, euthanasia, and capital punishment are all controversial issues in today's society. Just as important of an issue to many people is gun control. Gun control lobbyists believe that there should be more control over firearms while anti-lobbyists believe there is already enough. Although many people are killed or seriously injured by firearms which are improperly stored, ...
So in conclusion, I am pro-guns but I do believe that since America has a history of gun violence many changes should be made in order for the violence to decrease and for America to be a loving peaceful country.
