High School Baseball In CanadaBaseball is a sport enjoyed by millions year after year. Unfortunately it is unavailable in Canadian high schools. It is about time baseball is made available to Canadian high school students. Although you may think of baseball as an American pastime, it is popular all over the world. professional baseball leagues are popping up all over the world. We have professional baseball in Canada, Japan, and just recently it has developed in Australia. Now it’s time for it to arrive in a new place, Canadian schools. Canadian high school sports consist of volleyball, basketball, track and field, soccer, and rugby. Rarely is football offered. It’s funny how Canadians mainly follow three professional sports, none of which are offered at the high school level. These include hockey, football, and baseball. You could ask almost any North American kid what sport interests him most. Without a doubt a high percentage would say baseball. This goes to show that there would be no lack of interest in a Canadian high school baseball program. All you have to do is ask the kids. The amount of risk in bringing in a baseball program would be negligible. It has been proven by American schools to be succesfull. The cost in adding this program to the High School Sports would be minimal. The fields needed are already in place. Equipment for each school would be less than three thousand dollars. This would all be a small sacrifice for such a great sport to be introduced.

Middle school, just like its title explains, is the time when students are stuck in the middle of childhood and young adulthood. People start to mature from earlier elementary ...
Many good baseball players go through community programs but are not given the chance to develop to their full potential. They are not given the time and training which they would gain through high school ball. Many kids do not get to experience playing baseball at the community level, but would play if it were made available at school. Another fault in only having a community league is that it is non selective. It is generally first come first serve. Community leagues also assure near equal playing time. With such a large variance in abilities and equal field time a lot of the competitiveness is removed from the game. Many good players do not get to expand on their skills, others don’t even get to play enough to get good. The introduction of high school baseball in Canada would be well supported, with a great deal of interest. High school sports are for the students, why don’t we give them what they want. What they want is baseball. As you can see costs, and risks would be minimal. A close personal friend went through the present Canadian system, and he missed out a great deal. It’s time a baseball system was set up in Canadian Schools.
