THE FIRST DUTY OF A DOCTOR HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO PRESERVE LIFE. HOW FAR CAN THIS PRINCIPLE STILL BE MAINTAINED?
The profession of a doctor has initially been created only to save the lives of people by finding solutions to their health problems. However, in the world today, numerous situations arise where the doctors who were at first saving lives, have to end lives. From 1973 to 1987,over twenty – two millions of abortions have been performed.Behind this issue lies not only abortion but also euthanasia.Abortion and euthanasia, culprit or solution? A highly heated battle indeed.
Murder is defined as the unlawful killing of a person with evil after thought. It cannot be murder to take a life with the permission of the person. Euthanasia is an act of mercy which can be the best solution in certain extreme cases. People born severely disabled and people suffering from agonizing diseases such as cancer, AIDS may have no hopes of living a normal life. Each new day will be like another day to challenge the torture. Taking into account the excruciating pain these human beings are enduring, who would not want to alleviate their suffering? Obviously, it would be inhuman and unfair to make them endure such unbearable pain.
People are needlessly kept alive. The senile serve no useful purpose.Thaey are tragic burden to their families. Today’s hospitals are overcrowded with patients. In such cases it would be better to let those who endure extremely great pain to die. In that way , there would be more room for the patients who have a chance of being cured.
The Essay on Euthanasia Life People Death
Euthanasia Euthanasia has brought great attention to the public eye since Dr. Jack Kevorkian was discovered for contributing to these horrible inhumane acts. At the present time, the state of Oregon has the world's only law specifically permitting a doctor to prescribe lethal drugs for the purpose of ending a patient's life (web). Why has only one state that happens to be in the United States ...
Nearly 99% of abortions are performed before the fetus is viable. Until it is viable outside the womb, a baby is just a part of the mother or can even be described as a parasite. As it Is almost a parasite, it should be the mother’s and doctor’s decision if they wish to terminate it and not the government’s or anyone else. On top of it, various situations arise where the mother has only abortion as the best solution. For instance, in rape cases. No woman would want to give birth to a chil who will constantly remind her of the rape.
The world has become over crowded due to unwanted pregnancy. Millions of children are in foster care with no parents. They daily suffer psychologically from the truth that they have no parents. In some orphanage, it is too crowded that the children hardly get any personal attention. Having almost no personal guidance and constantly remembering that they have no parents, these children normally develop frustration and at times end up into bad citizens.
Nevertheless, every issue that has pros has always had cons. Similarly euthanasia and abortion can be a disadvantage as well. Euthanasia devalues human life. Human life is sacred. It should not be valued by productivity only. Euthanasia turns death into a purely technical issue of stripping it of all its humanity and allowing us to control the place ,time and way of our death. Facing the pain of death serves a spiritual purpose,to avoid it would be against God’s paln. Hence, euthanasia erodes civilized norms.
‘Two rights don’t make a wron’. There may be various arguments against this principle but there are stronger enough arguments supporting this principle too to defeat the arguments against it; the best being the emotional trauma and guilt that hanunts the woman after abortion . As a result, we fell that this principke can still be maintained though only to some extent when we consider rape cases.
The Research paper on The Ethics Of Euthanasia. (Arguments Against Euthanasia)
Euthanasia nowadays, constitutes a moral issue that from time to time comes into view mainly from its supporters who, contrarily to more traditional opinions, believe that the man is the master of his life and that nobody else can force him to stay alive, especially when his life has become unbearable from the illness and the pain. This dilemma does not have an easy solution. Even if basic thesis ...
