Explanation In this experiment it was found that sodium chloride decreases the plant growth of green beans. At 0. 5% of sodium chloride concentration solution the results show that it didn’t affect the growth the plant in substantial way (Table 5).
However with 2% of sodium chloride concentration solution the growth of the plant had decreased by 60 mm (Table6) than the plant that was not give any concentration of sodium chloride (Table 4).
The 5%, 10% and 15% concentrations of sodium chloride also decreased the plant growth to the point where it could only shoot up to 3mm at max.
All these results were put in Graph 1 to put in comparison the different concentrations of sodium chloride. The graph clearly shows that the higher the concentration of salt the more the growth of the green beans is stunned. 3. 2 Evaluating Procedures Reliability In this experiment the reliability of the data is thought to be accurate. In the processing of the data all off the calculations for averaging were double checked. In the calculations there was also room for uncertainties and it was accounted for. In the experiment there were no uncertainties that had significant effect of the processing of the data.
Limitations / Weaknesses / errors in laboratory investigations Some of the limitations that was presented in this experiments were the conditions that the plants were in. The plant was not monitored 24/7 and therefore it means that plant may have been subject to unknown uncertainties and this could be one of the limitations/weaknesses.
