I Hate My Neighborhood
I hate my neighborhood. See I live between Six and Seven Mile Roads on Van Dyke. It looks like a ghost town. It has not been renovated in more than twenty years. There are burned down and vacant homes, closed businesses, and the vacant lots that stand out like eye sores. The graffiti and trash makes it look like a dump. I can barely walk my dog because of all the broken glass and garbage on the sidewalks. My kids can’t play at the local park because the grass never gets cut. There is a lot of crime from drug dealings, shootings, robberies, fires, and prostitution. I had my van stolen from me while it was parked in front of my home. When I went to the police station in my neighborhood to report the crime I couldn’t belive the response I received. I was told to look around the neighborhood and I might find. I was so ticked off when I left there but decided maybe it might help. Needless to say I found it in my alley. But when I went back to let them know I was hoping that they would take fingerprints and find those theievs . I was told that nothing could be done since I found it they just cancled the repot and told me to have a nice day. With all of the corruption at City Hall and if I can’t even get the police to help me, then how can I learn to love where I live.
