I need an Anology Essay, compairing writing to a Diet. Writing is the process of physical movement of a pen (or fingers on the keyboard) to produce some characters, symbols and letter all of which later constitute that term writing. Yet, the word writing is more than physical production of words, characters and letters, but rather a complex thought process that controls the production of these characters in order to become of some meaning to people other than the writer. Dieting, on the other hand is the procedure of limiting ones passions and taming ones preferences with respect to the food and drink in order to achieve some health or appearance effect in ones body. In the following essay I am going to compare writing to dieting and present various analogies that exist between these two words. First of all writing just like dieting has to be (and usually is) a thoughtful process.
Just like a dieting person who chooses carefully what goods to buy and what products to eat to satisfy ones daily ration, so does the writer carefully selects the words, phrases and sentences to satisfy ones rhyme and thought process. The second thing is that writing just like dieting does not guarantee any impressive results, and actually cannot guarantee anything at all. The writer who expresses his thoughts on paper or on the computer screen, can never know whether the given poem, story or a novel will be liked by others or whether or not he will be able to complete it the way he plans. The dieting person can also never know about the results of the dieting until they show themselves. There are many people who diet and do not lose weight, so there are many writers who write and never get any viable results. There are many people who get beautiful bodies that are liked by everybody after dieting, and there are people who get wonderful poems or stories that are liked by everybody. The third thing is that dieting just like writing has different effects on different people.
The Research paper on Academic Writing Articles Writers Revision
Reading the four assigned articles, to me, was equivalent to the "Reading" section of the ACT. Both seem to drag on for what seems like hours and require much re-reading to comprehend the complete message trying to be conveyed. My point is not that these articles are not worth reading. They contain valuable information about a very tough objective in academia today: writing. More directly, their ...
Some people might start to feel happier after starting to diet, while some people might get happy when they are able to write. And on the contrary, some people get nervous when not eating as much as they want, and so there are people who get even mad when they do not write what they believe should be written. There many instance in history when the poets and writers would burn their masterpieces because they are not satisfied with them. So there are many instances in history when people throw away the dieting pills because they feel that the result is not what they want. One should also not forget that just like dieting writing can be an exhausting thing for a person. Just like many people develop anorexia because they are too obsessed with their weight and dieting, so there are many people who lose sleep and get depressed because they are too obsessed with their creative writing process. Just like dieting, writing can be seen by the people from the outside, who may notice that you lost 10 pounds and may notice that your poem was written in the local newspaper. Just like dieting, writing obeys certain rules, and one of the most common ones is logic.
Just like in a dieting one has to logically assess the organisms need in vitamins and microelements and has to provide those to the organism while probably cutting on the junk food and saturated fats, so does the writer knows that both the story or a poem must have some theme (or themes) that would be accompanied by some idea(s) in some sequence and order so that the poem makes sense rather than presents a series of random words and sentences. In conclusion I would like to note that indeed writing and dieting are the things that have a lot in common and are analogous in many respects. The person who writes has to follow the same rules, remain logical, and thoughtful just like he/she would be when dieting. Writing on the other hand just like dieting may or may not have the effects the person desires, or may present the effects that would not be noticeable by other people than that very person..
The Essay on Sumerian Civilization Krieger People Writing
Sumerian Civilization Civilizations have been created throughout the history of the world. There have been hundreds of established civilizations that have worked because of three important key traits. A civilization must have cities, specialized workers, and some form of writing system. (Krieger. et. al. 31, 32) These three things are what scholars believe make a culture "civilized." (Krieger. et. ...
