Two weeks ago Palestine and Israel started to war for their conviction. Two countries fighting for a piece of land that what it is. However, in the beginning of the 20 century the world was fighting for the human rights. A lot of men died during this war, soldiers who were before everything human being with feelings, who died for their aim and believes. Far from their beloved country ,in the middle of nowhere ,they are dying . Their last minute of life, is generally in the middle of bullets flying from a place to another. When a soldier goes to fight in another country its usually to save the glory of his home land and the conviction of their nation. They leave , holding bravely and proudly a weapon, who, hopefully, can save the life of a population and sometimes more. In the middle age when soldiers use to leave their village to fight with other tribes they were considered like heroes. Just like the Americans ,during the 1st world war, who were leaving their family and their culture without knowing if they will be coming back or not. Kilmer didn’t knew if I will be coming back to the New Jersey when he wrote this poem ,in memory of his friend ,but he was sure wasn’t coming back . Meanwhile, in memory of the brave soldier Rupert Brooke , Alfred Joyce said:
We keep the vision
the vision of his

Finally ,wars will never finish. Kilmer tried to keep the memory of his friend alive and also the memory of every soldiers who died during the combat .I hope people will finally find a compromise. I hope people will find another way to express themselves than fighting .All those soldiers will always stay heroes in our memory ,its for this exact reason that men like Kilmer wrote this kind of poem.
