There were a lot of positive and negative effects on the people of England during the late 1700s. The Industrial Revolution made living easier for many people across North America and Europe in the 1800s. Although some may have benefited from this new lifestyle, many workers suffered from overcrowded and filthy cities and were forced to work countless hours in cramped factories. While some might argue that the Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of the expansive economic growth, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were separated family life, exploitation, and environmental damage.
In the era before the Industrial Revolution, families focused more on agricultural production and left most of the work to the men. There is a lot of evidence that would lead us to believe that preindustrial life was much easier and less stressful for families. During that time they worked together as a family in which they all worked towards a common goal, allowing them to spend time with each other. The Industrial Revolution separated families and sent each of them to work different jobs, even some children.
