Do you think government agencies should use sites like these to communicate information to the public? Why or why not?
A topic like this is very controversial, which means that there are going to be many pros and cons to each side of this issue. The government can easily do whatever they think is right, but it’s up to the people to try and influence the decision made. So first let’s pretend that the government can go ahead and use facebook, and twitter to communicate information with the public. This can be good because millions of people a day use these resources so the info would easily be passed on. Also the government would be able to track criminals with ease. This would be good if there was a pedophile, or a thieve, or a killer that needed to be taken down. But this doesn’t mean you can use facebook and twitter for any crime. The little crimes like student loans, or late payments of a kind wouldn’t be necessary cause then I believe that’s digging into some ones personal life to much by spying on them when it’s really no big deal.
Now if the government wasn’t able to use facebook or twitter that wouldn’t be a bad thing either. Although you wouldn’t be able to catch more dangerous criminals as easily, the users could have more confidence that they won’t be getting in trouble for what they post on the sites. Jobs already do background searches on the employees by looking at facebook, and they sometimes find things that are against their company. But if the people knew that no one could do this, they’d feel safer on the internet for how they express themselves.

Kashmir lies in the North side of Pakistan. Quaid e Azam said that Pakistan is un complete without ...
This issue leads to the thought of what’s next. If the government is allowed to do this, they’re going to try and get even further with their next idea. Could this possibly lead to being able to legally tap phone lines and such things like that? This is all of the things people must think about while discussion and choosing a side for this issue. It isn’t an easy topic to side with, but we the people need to take part in it so that government can’t always have their way.
