How Religion Hurts the Community as a Whole
Throughout history, we as humans have been questioning whether there is a life after death, whether there is a god or ruler that watches over all. Many people, including myself, have looked over the bible, look over factual evidence, and compared the two. In Genesis I, there is a seven day creation period which is explained as:
Day 1: Sky, Earth, light
Day 2: Water, both in ocean basins and above the sky(!)
Day 3: Plants
Day 4: Sun, Moon, stars (as calendrical and navigational aids)
Day 5: Sea monsters (whales), fish, birds, land animals, creepy-crawlies (reptiles, insects, etc.)
Day 6: Humans (apparently both sexes at the same time)
Day 7: Nothing.
In Genesis 2 it mentions that Adam came before the plants, therefore defying genesis 1 with plants on day 3 and humans on day 6.
My Main point is that the Dark Ages and the Great Awakenings 1 and 2 were all a huge waste of time that could have been used to actually learn useful things like how the plants need the sun and water both to exist and how you need the sun before you could have light. “Water above the sky?” Really? You might as well put a giant rock in the sky and call that heaven too while your at it.
When God gets in the way of humans’ basic well being, it becomes a problem in the community.
PSA 145:9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
JER 13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
The Essay on Planet Mercury
Our solar system consists of the sun and nine planets. Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. Mercury was named after the Roman God of Commerce and Thievery. It might have gotten its name because of the way it quickly appears and disappears from Earth’s view. Mercury is the second smallest planet in the solar system; Pluto is the only planet that is smaller. Earth’s diameter is ...
The excerpt from the bible above mentions two parts of the bible that contradicts itself. It says God is good to all and shows tender mercy, but then it says He will dash them one against another? WHAT? If he is good to all he shouldn’t be destroying them.
