Issues of Gender and the Body in Modern Art (1) It is not a secret that profession of journalist is often being compared to the profession of prostitute, because both jobs imply trading the emotional content in exchange for money. There can be no doubt that in presented case, the journalist acted in highly immoral manner, from conventional perspective. At the same time, when we think about it, the unethical behavior of journalist fits perfectly well into essence of political elections, as such that is based on psychological manipulation of masses. Just as every hooker, who strives to hide her essence of person that is totally deprived of morals, every presidential candidate strives to create a public image of itself as someone who is concerned about the well-being of citizens, even though nothing could be further from the truth. Therefore, it will not be an exaggeration to say that every presidential candidate is a double-faced individual. Exposing candidates weaknesses to the public only benefits the society, because it provides citizens with the insight on the essence of political process in this country.
The fact that journalist used unsubstantiated documents that alleged misconduct of a presidential candidate does not makes his deed less valuable, in the social context of this word. It simply means that he lacks a journalistic talent, because he could not obtain substantiated documents, which do exist. When Larry Flynt suggested that Jerry Falwell had sex with his mother, he could not substantiate his claim, which was the reason why Flynt was being sued. However, United States Supreme Court dismissed the case on the grounds that public criticism of political and religious leaders by journalists is beneficial to this country, even when this criticism does not rely on hard facts or when it is based on unsubstantiated information. Therefore, it would be wrong to refer to presented case as the example of journalistic immorality. We need to understand that Medias objectivity is nothing but a myth. Medias cannot be objective in a priori, simply because they rely on advertisements as the mean of income.
The Essay on Historical and Contemporary Figures in Public Relations
Over the years, key figures in public relations have contributed to its shaping through intrinsic criticism, major additions and re-evaluation that has seen latter applications being highly effective in creating cohesion and ultimate higher productivity and sustainability in the society. Notably, the concept of public relations dates back to eighteenth century, however, many authors appear to ...
In fact, the majority of people do not want facts to be presented to them in objective manner, because it would require them to use their brain cells, in order to digest information. It is much easier for the masses to absorb information that was already being digested for them. Nowadays, the financial means, on the part of the candidates, define results of elections. In other words, the candidate who can afford spending more money on his election campaign is more likely to win, regardless of his political agenda. This turns the democracy into plutocracy, when it simply does not make any sense to talk about morals as the notion that is applicable, when is comes to describing the political dynamics in the country. Therefore, every time journalist finds courage to disperse peoples illusions, related to every particular candidate, we should only be thankful. (2) The notion of objectivity in the field of journalism does not correspond to the objective reality, because only highly intelligent people are able to make use out of such objectivity.
The policy of multiculturalism was able to marginalize American society to such a degree that percentage of intelligent people in this country declines steadily, while creating a situation when even our current President has trouble spelling out words or remaining focused on the topic of his speeches. Successful journalist is not someone who strives to always remain objective, but someone who knows how to address the anxieties of the crowd. A successful journalist knows that people only need to be told what they want to hear. The majority of citizens in this country are deeply convinced that our politicians are corrupted. It does not make any sense to try to change their opinion, in regards to this matter, because it will be counterproductive, in social and professional sense of this word. Before we talk about ethics, in the field of journalism, we need to decide on what represents the essence of these ethics.
The Essay on Ethics & people
The question of ethics is particularly important for a person who is both part of society and works with a group. The development of community and collective self is impossible without the struggle of opposing ideas and positions, and the collision of different points of views and opinions through which it is possible to overcome contradictions and disagreements. The relationship within a team ...
In multicultural society, every citizen has its own understanding of ethics. In fact, the notion of ethics, as whole, is Eurocentric, because it is based on metaphysical idealism of White people. Therefore, we can talk about journalistic ethics as another myth, especially within a context of recent demographic shifts in America.
