The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. This book is about two go ups of people who live in the same large city, but who had completely different natures. The first group the ‘Socs ” are mean, stuck up, rich snobs. For fun they beat up on the Greasers.
Which leads me to the Greasers. They are ‘lower class’ they come from the hood (the not so good part of town. ) This book is a fiction story dealing with friends hp, loyalty, trust, and differences. One night two of the Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy were walking in the park when suddenly five Socs showed up.
One of the sons grabbed Ponyboy and put his head in a drinking fountain and was drowning him. Johnny was trying to save him and ended up stabbing a Socs named Bob. He killed him. Now they got some help from another Greaser, Dally. He gave them a gun and $50. 00.
they fled to Windrixville to hide out in an abandoned old church house. There was an accident at the house. A fire got started, and while they were put ing it out, Jonny and Dally both got hurt badly. They both had to go to the hospital. Dally got out after a few days, but Johnny was too badly hurt. they could not say when he might get out.
