Kingdom of GOD The use of the phrase ” Kingdom of God” in the gospel of Matthew creates a different meaning of the idea of the word “Kingdom.” The obvious interpretation of the idea of Kingdom is land that is ruled by a King. Through the works of Matthew there is distinctive effort into placing the “kingdom of god” in the passages. In Matthew 19: 23, Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” It is implicated that the Kingdom of God is a physical place to reach. There is a thought that is concluded in the analysis of this passage that the “Kingdom” is a place where you are let in. Matthew also remarks in chapter 21: 31 that Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.” It is identified in this passage different kinds of people are entering God’s Kingdom. Here the idea of subjects of God is engaged. As the concepts of kingdom are identified with, consideration must be made to enforce a code that condones Gods Subjects. In chapter 21 verse 43 Jesus states, “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.” The relevance of this passage is used to insight the conduct of the followers of Jesus. Just as the subjects of a King must obey his wishes, a disciple of Christ must do what is called upon him to do.
