Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. This is the first Beatitude. It tells us that we should accept people for who they are and not the material things they have. You should not treat a person who lives in a nice house and drives a nice car any different then someone who lives in a less desirable house and drives an old car.
You should treat everyone how you would like to be treated. Just because someone can not afford some of the things as you might be able to does not mean that they are a bad person. We should accept everyone into our community. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
The second Beatitude tells us that we should refuse violence and to be patient and God will be with you. You should not choose violence as a way of solving a problem. Many teenagers today turn to fighting, drugs and alcohol as a way of getting rid of their problems. If they would step back and get help and let God into their hearts and life they would realize that violence dose not solve everything.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. This Beatitude tells us to make good choices, just because it is a good choice you are making for yourself dose not mean you will be in the most popular crowd. They might be the ones making the wrong choices. Sometimes the most poplar people are the ones making bad choices. They may tease people and discriminate. They may force you into believing that their group is the best and no one else matters.
The Essay on One People Treated Time
February 15, 2001 Jarrett Scott Tuesday/Thursday Introduction to Political Science ESSAY NUMBER ONE We human beings are a very unique creature. We have the ability to communicate through words, actions, and visions. We also strive to be the best that we can be. Whether at sports, school, or work we all want to be to the leaders of our field. That is why with my guidance and leadership we can grow ...
We have to realize that wealth and power is not everything. Make your own decisions about what is right and wrong and learn to live like Jesus. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. Many people today seem to look over the poor and needy. The people who are the poorest may be the happiest. We have to be able to look at these people and see how wonderful they really are.
They may not ask for anything but when someone offers to give them something they truly do cherish it. Even if it is just a slice of bread or a pair of old shoes, or even a blanket. Today we can give to charities to help these people because somewhere someone is getting that blanket you did not want and it is the thing that is keeping him warm all winter. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall see God. How can someone who has so much not even spare one can of food for someone who has none. Is it fair for all of us to have so much and some people have nothing? What is there to do? We need to be able to give some of what we have to those people.
It is not right to have so much when your neighbor is starving. Be merciful and give to someone who has none. As a high school sophomore I do not believe it is fair. I try to help in any way I can even if it is just one can of food I know I can spare it because there are probably five more of the same thing in the closet. So if everyone just gave one thing it will make a bigger difference then you think in the lives of all of those people who had nothing. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
If we are going to make the Kingdom of God here now everyone has to be a part of it. The wars have to stop, no racial violence, everyone has to get along. We have to show a good example to others. If we follow Jesus and do the right things maybe someone else will follow.
It has to start somewhere so even if just our small community here lives the way God wants us to live maybe others will follow our example and eventually everyone will be living in the Kingdom of God. Blessed are those who suffer persecution for justice sake, the Kingdom of God is theirs. We can live out this beatitude by including those that we may not be as friendly with into our activities even if it is not the most popular thing to do. Everyone should get along and do things together as a group. There is not one person who should feel left out or not loved. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.

Many people are blessed with nice healthy families, good homes and food to eat. Is it fair for these people who have so much to live in a world with others who have so little? It is hard for me to understand because I have been blessed with so much, but when I look around at the world and on the news it hurts me to see that many people do not have the things I have. More people in this world need to share their wealth and talents with those who are less fortunate.
