We have just arrived here in the new world and I must say, things are so much different here. Some of the settlers have established small colonies but other then that the land here is wild and uncultivated. It’s nothing like England. The voyage over here was the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life.
Nearly half of our lord’s people didn’t even survive. The saddest part is that these people didn’t even get proper burials. Instead they were dropped into the cold, harsh sea below. The conditions on the boat only seemed to get worse with time. For a while I thought that I myself wasn’t going to make it.
The stench was so putrid and unbearable that none of us wanted to stay below during the day despite the cold wet temperatures above deck. Also the seas were very rough and unforgiving, to be honest I thought the vessel would give in at any moment. We did spend the majority of our free time caulking the leaks the ship would get and tending to the decks but being on a ship for that many days was more then enough. Anyways I guess I’m just glad to be on land now. During the day time here me and some fellow puritans are busy building our community and at night we just try to survive. I myself was fortunate enough to be staying with a family that’s been living here for several years now but some of the others aren’t so lucky, and at night here it gets very cold.
The Essay on A Cold Day In Seattle
(this is a paper i wrote for english the grade was an A) A Cold Day In Seattle It was a cold winter day on that dreadful morning. School was closed because of a holiday. Justen's friends Jeremy and Billy came over to see if he could go to Capitol Hill with them. He agreed and their friend Ryan drove them. It was about 1: 00 pm when we they there, but the three boys would of never have gone if they ...
The only worse thing then the weather is the disease’s that seem to plague our communities. I’ll be okay though as I am stronger with our lord then ever before. We planned on having most of the houses up before winter but things aren’t looking too good as supplies are scarce and food around here is hard to get. Most of my thoughts right now are occupied by my yearning of being home, back in England although out here I don’t have to worry about being unaccepted and I can worship freely in this land.
