Leadership Styles

There are many different types of leadership styles and personalities. You will be able to identify some attributes of a democratic leader that has an Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging personality type.
There are many different types of personality tests. The Myer-Briggs is one type which consist of sixteen different types of personalities using eight letters. personality test aims to describe aspects of a person’s character that remains stable throughout their lifetime and the individuals characters pattern of behavior, thoughts, and feelings. The Myer-Briggs personality test is used for career planning, career counseling, employee training, team building efforts, and personal development. It also assesses your preferred options to be able to handle any given situation. The letters used to describe your personality type include E, I, S, N, F, T, J, and P. E-I stands for extroversion-introversion. This is the first scale of the test and the most important. You may be an extrovert when you concentrate on people and the environment around you. However, you are considered introvert if you focus on your thoughts and ideas. S-I stands for sensing-intuiting. It is the second scale that is evaluated. According to the MBTI, seventy-five percent of the population belongs to sensing. The next scale is thinking-feeling. These are evenly dispersed throughout the population, as two-thirds of men are thinkers, while two-thirds of women are feelers. The last scale is the judging-perceiving scale. It reveals how much organization you prefer in your life.

ISFJ is a type of personality which was identified by taking a test called Jung Personality test. Introverts prefer solitude, quietness, and concentration over gatherings. Sensing is when you primarily use your five senses. Feelers prefer emotions, instincts, and motivation. Judgers are more structured, organized, and decisive. Therefore, ISFJs are characterized by their desire to serve others. They are often known as protectors. ISFJs are usually unappreciated at work, home, and play. They are loyal, perform high quality work, and are often taken for granted. They are terrible at delegating and believe that in order to get the job done, they should do it themselves. ISFJs are pleasant and reliable coworkers but are uncomfortable in a supervisory role. Their work ethic is high on their priority list but their families are center of their lives. This type of personality have few close friends but are extremely loyal to them. Traditional careers for ISFJs include teaching, social worker, nursing, practicing general medicine, secretarial work, and some administrative careers.
A democratic leadership is based on the belief that each member of their team should give their opinion into the development of goals and problem solving. This type of leader sees themselves as a coworker and they stress the importance of teamwork as well as communication. Democratic leaders support their coworkers and are always their for them if they need an extra hand. Democratic leaders are less authoritarian than the autocratic leadership style. They prefer the use of participation and majority rule in order to get the job done. A democratic leader is usually the preferred leadership style in most work settings.

Democratic leadership style will help you during a conflict situation because they allow communication among each of their team members. They want their input to help resolve the conflict. They work together to find a solution that most fully satisfies their needs.
An effective communicator must be an active listener. Communication should be clear and concise. A democratic leader uses communication that is open and two-way. These leaders maintains an open mind and are willing to listen to others as well as giving their input.
Democratic leaders motivates their coworkers to do what they ask by being supportive of their team members. They give recognition to a job well done. They also encourage their team members to voice their opinions. Democratic leaders have trust and confidence in their employees.
A democratic leader is the preferred leadership style in most work environments. They value employee involvement, teamwork, and team building. They respect and trust their employees especially in decision making. Democratic leaders share their power throughout their members.
