Children and young people should be encouraged to participate in the monthly recordings created by their carers and have the opportunity to give their view on how they have done during the past month. They should have the freedom to say what they want in their report whether it be positive or negative, good or bad.
The carers role is to write accurately the events of the past month giving detail to times places and visitors. These records are kept on file by the agency and may be used in the future should there be a need for clarity of past events as in the case of accusation. Any comments the carer wishes to add of a personal opinion should be identified as such.
As with my role as Liason officer during skills to foster, any information I hear about potential carers is kept confidential to the group and the lead manager for the purpose of recruitment and suitability only. This communication for my part is verbal only as the lead manager will be the one to write the report which will include my views for these events.
3.2 During my supervision we discuss what is entered into my reports and this is a time to evaluate the depth of my report and gives an opportunity to expand on detail should it be suggested by my supervising social worker.
I can also use the supervision to discuss any other reports I have received or wish to discuss or challenge. I try to be very clear and detailed in my reports but if further information is requested I write a more detailed report of the incident for submission.
The Essay on The Kite Runner – Past Events
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini illustrates the effects of past events on Amir’s present actions, attitudes, and values. The effects were both positive and negative. Past events can “change the course of a whole lifetime”. The raping event that happened during Amir’s childhood affects his actions even during his adulthood. After the rape event, Amir feels guilt and that guilt made him go on the ...
I took this opportunity to discuss the use of a form which is used for respite carers. The form gives details for children’s likes and dislikes for food and bedtime, but does not include behavioural tactics or suggestions for carers to handle difficult behaviour.
As a result of this discussion, I have formatted a form which can be used alongside the original which will aid respite carers in difficult circumstances.
3.3 I had a report from a social worker which included details of a child that had lived with me for 5 years. In this reports she mentioned sexualised behaviour as an ongoing concern. I questioned her knowledge as this had not been mentioned during the 5 years he had been living with me.
After causing concern for the agency, as they also had no information of this behaviour, the social worker sent a chronology report which showed an incident in school. I challenged the descriptive detail of her own report for a single incident around a time that would have been very distressing for the child and suggested she change her description to show this because it was giving the impression this was his current behaviour.
It was also discussed that the original referral did not identify this incident and concerns were raised for the other members within the home at that time. The social worker would not change her report but all the events were noted. The social worker is no longer working and the new social worker is happy that there are no current concerns.
I found it useful to look back into my own recordings to identify visitors when an accusation was made within my home. A young child accused another of incident exposure.
The details were vague and persons said to be present during a time of a tutorial, were not noted in my recordings or believed to have been visiting. By having the knowledge that the details were incorrect, it gave reason to question the accusation which after investigation, was if fact believed to have been from a memory from a past event and not a current incident in the home.
The Essay on Childcare Center Children Lack Workers
Childcare Management Business people love to create new opportunities, ideas, and products to make a profit. When America's businesses added women to their workforce and with the rise of single-parent households, the need for childcare arose, which is a wonderful business opportunity for those people who see the need for affordable quality childcare and are able to envision innovative ways to ...
3.4 it is important to keep information recorded clear and precise understanding that another person may make a judgement of a child based on what I have written. This would happen in the event of a change of social worker or from a report I fill out for a potential respite carer.
Writing reports is a major part of my role as a foster carer. The accuracy detail and timing are of great importance to keep information shared with other professionals to keep up to date progress on development. In turn this keeps the professionals involved for the child, up to date to maintain, increase or to cease any additional support.
I recently gave a report for the behaviour and implication that contact with a birth mother has had on the two children I care for. Their behaviour and needs which were both very different, for the purpose of contact were reported by myself to their social worker using the email sent through their own software for privacy.
My report was detailed including their behaviour before and after contact, their requests about contact and questions they had. An older boy who was able to confirm his own thoughts on the subject, which were very negative as he did not want to speak see or hear from his mother. A young girl who likes to have contact but doesn’t acknowledge her as mummy.
She has no memory of the past events but enjoys contact as a time to play games with someone from her family. Recently she has started to question who her father is and after contact became very distressed as she found this time reminded her she doesn’t have a dad. Her contact time has an implication on her older brothers behaviour as he remembers the past and cannot understand why she wants to spend time with their mother.
It was suggested that the contact be reduced or changed to letterbox as there is little reward for the children when they attend. After social workers and reviewing officer spent time with the children and taking their thoughts into consideration, it was suggested the contact be reduced to once or twice yearly avoiding any holiday period.
The Term Paper on Relationships These Children Attachment Infant Mother
Why Have Psychologists Stressed The Importance Of Attachment Behaviours In Development Many theorists agree that social contact early in a child's life is important for healthy personality development. This is the most important relationship of the child development period as it is from this that the child drives its confidence in the world. A break from this relationship is experienced as highly ...
