Throughout my childhood my parents always remind me about the importance of being honest. I agree that honesty plays a key role in our life, but being truthful isn’t always the best. The little white lie occasionally can be revealed somehow. Mark Twain said: “If you tell the truth you don’t have to remember anything. ” So, what shall we do: tell the truth or lie? People often find that white lies are an important part of our lives.
These can be innocent lies which make life better and more interesting. Moreover, there are times when we might want to avoid the full truth, or even tell a lie, in order to protect someone’s feelings, or prevent a conflict. I would rather tell someone a lie instead of hurting their feelings or making them feel bad. Nobody could deny that being able to trust your partner is one of the fundamental conditions for developing relationships between two people. It is often said that honesty is always the best choice no matter how old we are or what we are faced with. When someone asks you something seriously then they expect an honest answer.
Obviously there are some situations where lying is the right thing to do, but generally, honesty is a good policy to follow in everyday life. To sum up, I want to say that if the truth were only to be told, then the world would be so much different from now. There are distinctive situations in our life, and in some of them we should lie in others tell the truth. Abraham Lincoln believed that no man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar. I absolutely agree with him, because if you tell the lie, you should remember what you have told, and don’t forget it. So, it is your own decision what to say. Would you tell the truth or a lie?
