Dear Diary It is April 10, 1894 just arrived in Canada, it was a very hard journey to Canada we had to come by a ship but it was a horse ship full of manure and lots of people got sick, when we arrived in Canada we had a medical test, but lots of people was sent back or just gave up and returned back. When my papa got free land we had to look for it and took us a long time because it was so far away. It took us two days to find the land. We found a house an old house, which I live in now. It is dusty and we had to fix everything from the bottom. My father just fixed the land and planted wheat.
It been a month and four days and it is July 14, 1894 the wheat grew and it is a time we got 5 or 6 bags of grains and got lots of money and bought a new shovel and it cost only $5. The farm was success and we both a cow and chickens. Cow for milk and chicken for eggs. Two days later my mama got sick and don’t know what happened to her. We called doctor who lived five miles away from our land. The doctor said that she will be all right, she just got a fever.
Its had been two months and it is September 14, 1894 my mama got even sicker and the doctor said that she is really sick and she won’t live that long and I was am really depressed and I can’t write any more. It is November 25, 1894 my passed away me my brother and two of my sisters and my father has a successful farm and got a barn and bought a horse and more cows and chickens and now we though about selling chicken eggs to a market. I am 15 years old now and it is winter and its is really cold outside and my father goes went to the market to trade and bought us wool and other sorts. I just heard a bad news that Queen Victoria just died and it is January 2, 1901 and it is very bad news. Lots of people were crying and were sad of her death and we got that news by a wandering traveler. Papa went to the conference in the city for the Queens death and he really disappointed.
