Luck has always been a word that can stir up a debate on whether or not it exists. Some people believe luck exists and there’s nothing you can do to change your failure or success. Yet there are others that believe the actions you partake in to reach many opportunities will determine success or failure. My reasons for agreeing are because the actions you take will always determine your outcome and preparation is a great factor when faced with any and all opportunities. I believe this because when you want to get somewhere you are not just sitting there waiting on to come to you about it. I feel that by going out and being in control and being a go getter will always determine your outcome.
For example, I wanted my family to have a better lifestyle than what I experienced, so I decided to obtain a college degree. While making this decision I couldn’t just lie around and expect to get accepted just from doing research. I had to apply myself during high school, being that I had to make good grades. In addition, I had to go out and fill out applications to various universities and constantly make phone calls to ensure I took the right actions to get to where I wanted to be.

When I am faced with opportunities I am always thinking of ways I can help myself prepare for said opportunity. For instance, I have observed how some of my friends will ask me to help give them a mock interview. Giving my friends a mock interview helped them to see their errors and mistakes so that they could later correct them for the real interview.
I feel that by them preparing for their interview allowed them to better themselves for what was to come and it also helped them go in with confidence knowing that they were well prepared. In summary, I agree that luck doesn’t exist but I do believe the actions you take will always determine your outcome and preparation is a great factor when faced with any and all opportunities. I feel the more you are prepared will determined your successful outcomes, rather than putting all the blame or faith in luck.
