Managing Change
Managing change is an unwelcomed transition for most, but if it is approached correctly with skill, insight, and wisdom it can increase the chance for one to be successful in life. Managing change or transitioning, as most people call it, is recognized as a fundamental survival technique in life. These transitions offer crucial opportunities for personal and career development. The transition process offers each person a template for understanding the stages of personal change. He/She cannot avoid this process but can learn as humans how to adapt and how to make the very best of any situation for work and personal lives. (Orientation to adult learning)
Managing change is a necessary process in order to help deal with the change that has been triggered by any major life event, good or bad. This transition period is similar to a roller coaster ride. A person is very fearful of change as some people are to roller coasters, but once the person get on the coaster and are all buckled in, there is no turning back, and the same is true of change. Once it has occurred in life one must not look back. As the Roller coaster begins to climb the steep incline one still will have thoughts of worry and anxiety, but one will realize the change and the process will go quickly and that there are better things that will be rewarded to each individual. As the top of the coaster is reached and see the bottom is insight you know a downhill slope is in the near future. One is aware that the adaptation process to change is almost over. As you reach the exit of the roller coaster ride a sigh of relief can be heard for miles, just as someone might do when a change is managed well and is a success.
The Term Paper on Moving To Virginia Changed My Life
Who knew, changing environments could have a vast effect on my life and the lives of my four children. Changing environments changed our lives socially, economically and spiritually. All I had to do was want it bad enough, dream it big enough and prepare for the best life I had always envisioned for us. Positive changes occurred within all of us, just by changing our environment. Who knew a better ...
Managing change is proven to be succeful in all walks of life and for many different people with very different personalities. Each case of managing change is different for every situation and if handled properly will be successful. It is very important to look at the situation and evaluate it before any major change is made and this is the key to managing change correctly.
The Benefits of Personality Test
A personality test is a questionnaire designed to reveal aspects of an individual’s character or physiological thought. It has been argued by many that personality test are unreliable and employers should carefully weigh the risk and benefits of this test before basing their opinion to hire or not to hire an employee strictly on a personality test. Personality test has become a very common tool for understanding people and is normally used by human resource departments and organizations. Companies are searching for certain personality types before hiring and finding people that are best suited for the job at hand instead of going strictly off resume and interview.
Most personality test consists of a personality inventory that includes a large number of objective questions about ones behavior. One might be asked about his attitude in a particular situation and how he would respond. The test may also consist of questions about hobbies, personal habits, friends and family and what one may do in various situations that may occur. This inventory is designed to measure personality on different scales and let potential employers know how well one would work with the company and with other and measure how quickly they will become a success within the company.
The Essay on Colored People
Integration was a main theme or topic in this memoir. It played an important role in the time when Gates was growing up and had a big affect on him throughout his book. Integration changed the way Gates viewed, whites, blacks, restaurants, hairstyles, church, school, etc. He went from a conformist to a rebel to an Episcopal. His community changed with him and the older generation of course did not ...
In taking the true colors test I found that my score tied on 3 shades: orange, gold and green with fifteen points each and I scored a 5 on blue. With the color orange my strength is skillfulness and I prefer the hands on approach to learning and problem solving and enjoy a variety in my work load. In the gold category my strength is duty and being very well organized and dependable. My best skills are completing task and paying attention to detail. With the color green my strength is knowledge and I feel best when solving problems enjoying and exploring new ideas. With the color blue being my low score it appeared I am not a people person. I find this test be wrong in that aspect. I am very much a people person and enjoy helping other succeed as much as with my own career and life. The True colors test was very knowledgably and helped me to understand what an employer looks for when looking at these types of test.
Learning Styles Inventory
According to Kolb “learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience. Knowledge can be gained from the grasping of experience and transforming it” (Kolb).
Kolb’s learning theory sets out four distinct learning styles, which are based on a four-stage learning cycle. In this aspect Kolb’s model differs from others since it offers both a way to understand individual learning styles which is named the “Learning styles inventory” (LSI), and also an explanation of a cycle of “experimental learning” that applies to all learners.
Kolb proposes that experiential learning has six main characteristics:
1. Learning is best conceived as a process, not in terms of outcomes.
2. Learning is a continuous process grounded in experience.
The Term Paper on Myers Briggs Learning Assessment Style
Self-Assessment and Reflection Paper A Self-Assessment can form the foundation for anyone to examine their career and self-development opportunities, as it relates to their abilities, skills and personal style. A Self-Assessment is the art of performing an inner, in depth self-analysis of oneself as a whole or in a group. It can reveal your interests, desires, strengths, individuality, outlook, ...
3. Learning requires the resolution of conflicts between dialectically opposed modes of adaptation to the world (learning is by its very nature full of tension).
4. Learning is a holistic process of adaptation to the world.
5. Learning involves transactions between the person and the environment.
6. Learning is the process of creating knowledge that is the result of the transaction between social knowledge and personal knowledge.
In the personal style inventory test I took I discovered I my scores were higher in concrete experience, active experimentation and abstract conceptualization. I have more of an accommodating learning style, I primarily learn from hands on and carrying thru with plans and enjoy a challenge and new experience. In taking the learning styles test it gives each person a sense of how they learn and what is the best possibilities for each individual to learn and better perform at their job.
Emotional Intelligence
In taking an Emotional Intelligence assessment one can discover self-awareness, self-management, Self-motivation, empathy and social skills. All of these are very important in career and personal well being. Emotional Intelligence is an important part of knowing who you are from an emotional standpoint, this will help one learn to make the correct choices throughout life and be rational the decisions that will effect that person and any other person involved. This test will give on the ability to analyze a situation and be able to identify the emotion more effectively. It is very important to express emotions at the correct time and not to be over emotional in certain situations. These tests are very important to learning skills and dealing with people on a daily basis.
In taking an emotional intelligence I found I handled situations very well and was not over emotional and thought thing thru with a clear train of thought. All of the above test and pointers are designed to help an individual grow and succeed as a person and feel great about them. If these test are performed with honesty and commitment, and taking seriously they will help each individual become a better person and learn to achieve goals and be much happier with life.
