We don’t put preservative because mainly we use the sweetness of sugar as the preservative. Our product is kept in a small jar and sealed tight to prevent from spoiling and can last longer. The jam itself is so soft due to the right way of cooking fruits. Most Jams are plainly fruit jams losing the enzymes found in the fruit due to longer cooking. Yet we have discovered a proper way of cooking the product which won’t loss all its taste and vitamins. Most people use our Pineapple jam as bread spread. It can be eaten in every part of the meal. It can also use as toping to cakes, ice cream or shakes.
It is best when it is kept in a refrigerator for a cooler taste of the jam. B. Comparison 1. We might not use imported Pineapple yet Passi City’s Pineapple is also known amongst the best Pineapple in Panay Island. We strictly choose perfectly ripe and fresh pineapples from the farm to process.
But the biggest advantage we have among the other products is the homemade taste of our pineapple jam. The homemade taste is preserved because we don’t use preservatives which will greatly affect the taste of Jam as it is kept longer. We also maintain the possibility of avoiding unsold products for a month. We do maintain of selling fresh Pineapple jams every week. 2. What disadvantages does it have? One of our greatest disadvantages is the lifespan of our product or the expiration date. Because we avoided using preservatives to maintain the homemade taste, we also sacrifice the life span of our product.
This would cost us a lot of expired products. Yet we maintain average products sold per day to avoid such circumstances. C. Some Considerations 1. Where will you get your materials and supplies? The Major ingredients which are Pineapples are handpicked fresh from Pineapple farms outside Barangays of Passi City. These are coming from Brgy. Sto. Tomas, Brgy. Mulapula, Brgy. Nueva Union, Brgy.
