Geographical Question My Geographical question on the issue to be investigated is:” How much graffiti is there in Meadowbank Park and what is being done about it?” Aims and Hypothesis The aim of my investigation is to see how much graffiti there is in Meadowbank Park, and what is being done about it. I am going to the places in Meadowbank Park, which have graffiti and taking photographs of the graffiti. With these photographs and a questionnaire for local residents to fill out I will show the photographs to the residents and ask them to fill out the questionnaire about the graffiti. Once I have the opinions of local residents, I will speak to the police and find out what actions are being taken to solve this problem. I will then speak to people who actually do the graffiti and get their thoughts and point of view on the matter. My hypothesis is that the local residents will be disgusted at the graffiti and will say that the action they took to prevent it is calling the police and speaking to them about it.
I think the police will say that the graffiti is simply removed each time and people caught doing it will be punished and reminded that they are breaking the law by doing this. Reason for Interest am interested in this issue because I have seen a lot of graffiti and met people who do it and know how much time they spend on it, I would like to know how they feel when their artwork is removed and why they decide to do it in on walls etc instead on paper or card etc. I am also interested in what local residents think about it and if they consider it to be art or damage to the environment. In addition, I would like to know what the police is doing about this and how effective they think their actions are and finally what sort of punishments they give to people who do this. Main Sources of Information The main sources of information will be from people such as local residents and the police. Also the photographs I take of the graffiti itself.
