Mind or Miracles It is assumed that we live in era of post-modernity, which implies that the role of religion in society becomes negligible. Nevertheless, various miracle workers are still able to earn a lot of money, while exploiting peoples naivety. Despite the fact that we live in 21st century, 150 million Americans still believe in Genesis. It is well known that Christianity has turned into one of filthiest businesses long ago, along with drug trafficking or weapons trade. What make the proponents of good news especially despicable is the fact that they sell people false hopes. Many naive people donate millions of dollars to the Church, because they believe that somehow it would help them to deal with their diseases. Church encourages them to place their hopes for recovering on God.
Here is the classical example of Christian propaganda, which is directed at people who are not over burdened with intelligence. The article is called Elsa life story and it can be found on the site of Changing Lives Online: Elsa was in the hospital when the doctors had given up all hope of saving her eight-year old son, Thomson. Thomson had received four open-heart operations. Her story will show you that prayer through the precious name of Jesus Christ brings healing, salvation and miracles. What is interesting is the fact that is has been proven that prayer often does help. There were many cases of terminally ill patients recovering, because they had a strong faith in God. Does it mean that Jewish tribal deity really helps? Of course, not – it is the faith alone that enables people to overcome their illness.
The Essay on Adolf Hitler Years People Hope
Who was Adolf Hitler? Hope of life or Tyrant who caused death and sorrow. Who is Adolf Hitler? Over the years this question has been asked in different people and to different people, to some people he is a menace, a living terror, the devil himself, mean while to other people he was their only chance of hope, But the real answer lies in what you think what he was and to do so you need to know a ...
We can give a brightly covered pill that only contains sugar to a terminally ill person and it might help him, for as long as he strongly believes that it will save his life. There were many cases recorded of people being able to lift great weights, during the fire at house, for example. This is despite the fact they had never lifted anything heavy throughout their lives. There` are two necessary ingredients for miraculous healing: overpowering faith and psychological stress. Apparently, people have a hidden potential, which they can only realize in critical situations. Even miracle workers realize this fact.
In his article In Baguio, Healing is Believing Tess Raposas says: Healers themselves say the belief of the patient that something positive will come out of a visit has a lot to do with a treatment’s success. They add that the critical force that drives them to do what they do is faith, or what one of them describes as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Raposas).
Nevertheless, miraculous healing has nothing to do with Gods involvement. One can donate all his money to the Church, he can start speaking tongues and become converted yet, cancer will still kill him if his will to live is not strong enough. Naive people do not understand that God, even if he exists, has much more important things to take care of than saving the lives of morons. For some reason they think that if they die, world will cease to exist. One of my favorite literary characters Wolf Larsen from Jack Londons Sea Wolf talks about human life as something that only has a relative value: I held that life was a ferment, a yeasty something which devoured life that it might live, and that living was merely successful piggishness.
Why, if there is anything in supply and demand, life is the cheapest thing in the world. There is only so much water, so much earth, so much air; but the life that is demanding to be born is limitless (London, Chapter 6).
Bible thumpers look at Jesus as someone who was able to perform miracle healings. However, if we analyze closely Jesus miracles, it will appear that 90% of them consist of chasing away evil spirits. In another word, he was doing something that psychiatrists do on professional basis. The main Christian guru was very reluctant to perform miracles, because miracles are not possible in principle.
The Essay on Resurrection Of Lazarus Jesus God John
The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John comprise the core of Christian belief and tradition; in telling the story of the life and works of Jesus of Nazareth, each serves to direct and instruct the lives of His followers while also firmly establishing the divinity and nature of Jesus as the Messiah. The Gospel of John stands out from the other three, deemed the Synoptic Gospels because of the ...
Jesus taught his disciples not to wash hands, not to work, not to marry, not to bury dead bodies, because according to him, kingdom of Heaven was at hand. This is about it. His miracles are nothing but cheap tricks. Any professional illusionist can walk on water or raise dead, for as long as he is being paid enough. Therefore, those imbeciles who refer to Jesus as someone who encourages people to pray, while being sick, are simply incapable of accepting the truth. They believe in life after life, without realizing that such life can only consist of process of decomposing.
Numerous clowns like Benny Hinn are able to make fortunes on peoples stupidity. They especially like to prey on elderly women. We get to see a so-called miracle healings on Christian channels, but I personally do not see anything mysterious about them. Religion, in our days, is nothing but the way of making money, just as about anything else. 99% of these healings are staged. Those that really occur have a scientific explanation. It is very remarkable that Benny Hinn flew to one of the best clinics in Switzerland, when he suspected that he was having cancer.
At the same time, this miracle worker never gets tired of telling his followers not to rely on conventional medicine, when it comes to dealing with disease. He tells them to place their hopes on God, while spending their money to take care of himself. What is very striking about it is that he is still able to find sheep that gladly open up their wallets for him. To conclude this paper we need to say that even though that miracle healings do occur, they are not caused by the involvement of divine powers. Some people simply want to recover to such an extent that such recovery does take place. This points out to the fact that there is no need to look for God up in the sky. God sits quietly within ourselves and the only time he manifests itself is during the crisis. Numerous healers are nothing but parasites who exploit peoples lack of intelligence to enrich themselves.

The book Practicing Our Faith: a Way of Life for a Searching People is about addressing the need for sharing the fundamental needs of man to establish faithful and honorable Christian way of life. We think that selling drugs is highly immoral. Why cannot we adopt the same attitude towards those who sell fake hopes? Christian ministers cannot heal people in principle, because, according to Jesus, earthly existence is nothing but a burden. Why bother? Bible thumpers keep repeating that they will be with Jesus in the Heaven, but it does not prevent them from hanging on to life, while using every mean possible. Still, it appears that within next hundred years Christianity will completely lose its validity as religious concept. Then, it will be up to scientists to perform real miracle healings.
