There are moments in life where people do wrongful things to you; it’s in those times when you need to make a difficult decision. For an example, what would you do if a good neighbor stole $80. 00 from you to purchase antibiotics for his nine month old baby? If I was in the situation, I would not call the police, because I would first ask my neighbor if he really took the money. Then, I would have to talk to him, to find out why he did not address me about the financial issues he was having. Finally, I would ask him not to come over again to prevent future theft. Even though I might be sure that my neighbor took the money, I would double check with him; to see really did take the money.
I would want to give my neighbor the benefit of the doubt and give him the opportunity to tell me the truth. I know, and understand that rough times can come about financially. If people are willing to be honest than that’s good quality, however, if they choose to be dishonest people, then I can not have them around me or my family. Secondly, I would ask my neighbor why he did not come to me in the first place and explain to me his situation. My neighbor may not have had to steal from me in the first place. I would let my neighbor know that he should always ask for my help before taking from me.
I would also point out to him that I would have probably given him the money as a gift or a loan, so stealing from me may not have been necessary. If the theft situation with my neighbor can not be worked out then, I would ask him to not make another appearance at my door step again. Nobody wants a thief around, nor do we want them in our house. I will not let a person in my house who I know is a thief so they can steal from me. If a person has stole from me before, then chooses to ask me for something, he or she already knows that I’m going to say; NO! . Well, that’s pretty much my opinion on this particular topic.
