Katherine Watson would be similar to the Betty Friedan because they both want to educate young women, and making sure that they do not go towards the wrong path, and become more dominate then men. They should not be “owned” by first their fathers then after they wed become “owned” by their husbands. Friedan and Watson both believe that equality is very important in modern society because whether one is male and one is female, we are both humans and deserve the same respect. We also learned that housewives in the past would stay at home clean and take care of the children while men would make the money and have less responsibilities with the kids, but Friedan and Watson believe that it should be equal, maybe the men cleans and they both have jobs, or the women could have jobs while men stay at home and do housework and take care of the children.
Katherine Watson is also very similar to Simone de Beauvoir because they both know that women in that time were dependant on man, but wanted to make a change and become individual human beings. They also believe that marriage is very different for men and for women, and that women have not guaranteed an equal dignity, and that women are very restricted. Women do deserve the equal work in the house as men, women are capable of doing the same, if not more than men and should get equal work around the house, whether its they both have a job, they both equally take care of the kids and clean the house.
