A controversial question is that whether money can buy happiness. In my turn, I am in favor that money cannot be purchased. On the one hand, happiness is a state of the mind that people have the feeling of joyfulness. Satisfaction, merely, are getting high mark, enjoying simple foods with family without worrying anything in life, etc. these wishes appear to be no connection with fortune. In contrast, the majority of people permanently think that having good food, fashion, big house, luxurious car is happiness. Thus, they try their best to earn money regardless of health or family.
However, it is irony that although living standard is better and better, the number of people who say they are very happy has declined, especially, in industrial countries. For example, the divorce rate and the suicide rate are simultaneously increasing, more citizens than ever are morbidly depressed. Clearly, wealth cannot by happiness. Yet, the opponents said that the importance of money in pursuing of happiness is undeniable. The poor own food, house and clothe to service their life, pursue dream such as higher level or successful career.
On top of that, money can fulfill the vanity of people. For example, the numerous of people are keen on pursuing the famous brand fashion, car. Obviously, they will be happy if they can afford to get their wishes. Nonetheless, that happiness is just unreal and not long-lasting since happiness abound in hard work and sparing no effort. For instance, to get good result in learning or working, diligence is indispensable for students and businessman. For the aforementioned reasons, there is no doubt that money cannot buy happiness. It is merely means to help people fulfill their basic needs.
