Remember the Titans, directed by Boaz Yakin (2000), is an inspirational film that addresses major issues of tolerance and anti-racism. The film also celebrates success on the football field, however the greater messages explore racism and the friendships that develop as blacks and whites work together to reach a common goal, football victories. Anti-racism is a consistent theme that runs throughout the movie. The movie is set during the 1950’s in the community of Alexandra, a small southern town in the U. S. A. During this time great tension existed between Blacks and Whites.
