In the small town of Diction the gentle autumn breeze rustled the golden leaves of the oak trees. The streets in this small town were as empty as a blonde?s head. There were no lights on in any of the houses, and it was so quite you could hear a mouse walking around at one hundred feet. The sun slowly sank behind the western horizon, sending golden rays over the town, this cast droodping shadows all around. All of the people were at the city hall, where the mayor and chief of police were addressing a very nervous crowd. ?Quite! Quite Please! Evcryone settle down!? yelled the mayor. ?You know why we are here,? said the mayor as the crowd became real attenative listeners. ?Now lets get it over with, there was a murderer amongst us, but we have caught the killer. Everyone is safe now the murderer is locked up in jail and will be sent up the river tomorrow morning.? Said the mayor as he left the building. The hostile crowd yelled out ?let?em fry! kill the killer!? ?Now none of that ya here!? screamed the chief. ?The problem is taken care of, so take you scared butts home!? Everyone left, but inquiring minds still wanted to know who the killer was. So a small group headed for the local jail.
They marched hurredly before the chief saw them. Then someone asked, a younger fellow, ?What happended, I mean like what is the story of the murderer?? ?Well, I don?t really know, no one does but I think it had to do with this parade.? said Jim Jones, ? It all started with Barbara Louise, Billy Bob, Betty Lu, Ben Dover, Seargent Ashworth, Miss Daisy, and Ms. Billington. These were the contestants of the annual Diction Parade.? Said Jim as he went into his version of the story. The small town rustled with gossip, soon all of the houses in Diction had a story teller repeating there version of the murder. Every repeated stories they had heard earlier or they just made up new stories. Jim went on as the small group walked downtown toward the small jail. ?Barbara Louise was preparing the town for the twenty-second annual Diction parade. She went around the town in her small red convertible, the prize of last year?s winner, she ordered people to clean that, pick up those, move these, and get that out of the way. She ordered everyone around, let alone being the richest woman in town, she was the most powerful woman in town. He husban had mysteriously died and she inherited a half a billion dollar fortune.? Jim said this with some suspense in his voice.

?Well what happened to him?? aske the the younger fellow. ?Nobody knows, but that story will be told another time another day. Now back to the story, Barbara curised aroun with two people Miss Daisy, and Betty Lu. This group was on of the most arrogant, snobby, stuck up groups ever to walk the face of the earth. They were so stuck up their noses almost touched the clouds. They wore prissy dresses and ordered everyone around, as if they themselves were royalty.? Continued Jim. ?Barbara ordered a world class float and was planning on winninthe parade for the third staight year. The winner recieved a crown adn a new car.? Jim explained. ?Now Barbara didn?t need a car, she had four, but the other contestants needed it. The new car symbolized new life for the small town. A new begining, a challenge, and excitement. People saw the car and it showed a reflextion of instant respect. They saw excitement in the town, action and fun in the small town. Everyone was working double time on their floats, while Barbara waited for hers to be shipped. Barbara saw the car as a toy while thge others saw pride, respect, adn appreciation. The candy apple sparkle coating showed life and power. The chrome wheels sere the stun guns, leaving people in awe as the car passed.
The Essay on Child Care The Effect On Family Life
More and more families are putting their children into daycare every day. There are different reasons as to why they have to do this. The pitch black tires showed endless appreciation, endless limits, endless pride. And the V-8 engine showed fun for someone in their dull life. Raw power and excitement for someon who doesn?t have that much.? Said Jim with some Jealousy. ?Everyone knew Barbara had her float ont he way, so they tried every means possible to win. Billy Bob was a rather large man, and he had some what of a drinking problem. He lived in a small home and he had no family. His old Chevy Luv wasn?t pulling its weight either. So he badly wanted to win.? Said Jim sympthetically. ?Betty Lu was like barbara, she really didn?t need the car, she just wanted the win. The glory of the win, and the fame. She was a petite asian woman, who probably couldn?t even steal the piece of candy from a baby. Let alone drive a car with a V-8. Her Mercedes was fine.? Said Jim with some disgust. ?Now Ben Dover badly needed the new car, but he was to lazy to do any good work on the float. He lived a depressed life, orphaned at four, he caught his wife cheating on him, and he has was thrown in prison for two years. He really seems like the guy who could snap, in my opinion.? Said Jim hinting a little. ?Miss daisy was also loaded, like Betty and Barbara she wanted the win for the glory.
She didn?t need it, she was rich, powerful, and had three cars. She just wanted the glory.? Jim explained with some distaste for the woman. ?Now Seargent Ashworth was a disturbed man, veteran of World War Two and Vietnam. Shell shocked and almost deaf, the old man didn?t have anything to live for. After serving hsi kcountry for forty-two years what did Uncle Sam do. He took all the man?s money land and life. So megerly getting along with a bicycle and a one bedroom apartment he would also like to win, with all lmeans necessary.? Said Jim hinting his opinion again. ?The last contestant was Miss Billington, Barbara?s old house maid. Aged fifty-nine years, the old lady can?t stand Barbara?s constant orderers. She wanted the car to get to and from Barbara?s house as fast as possible. She also wanted to get some respect.? Jim explained this with some sympathy towards the old woman. ?Who do you think did it?? questioned the younger fellow. ?I?ll get there don?t worry, see all of the contestant had a grudge towards Barbar, except Betty Lu and Miss Daisy. Since, afterall they were her best friends.? Jim said this trying to draw some attention. ?It was the day of the parade adn the whole town was in the annual excitement.

The parade started at 10:00 a.m. and was supposed to end at eleven o?clock. It was was 9:30 a.m. and the contestants were lined up. Seargent Ashworth had a World War Two tank replica. A fifty foot tank with a fifteen foot cannon. It was pretty good. Now Billy Bob had a float that went to extreme measures. He had made a thirty foot beer keg. Thirty luminous feet of tin-foil. He had it down to the a ?T,? it was actually really nice.? Jim explained with some excitement. ?Miss Daisy had a giant car. A thiry-five foot orange car. The number zero one on the sides and a confederat flag on it. It was sure to be a finalist. Ben Dover had a huge rocket ship. A leng slender body, coned at the top, with two perfectly round gas tanks at the botytam. This too was sure to be a finalist. Betty Lu?s was big horse, bay colored with a flowing mane and tail. It looked as if it were running a hundred miles an hour. Personally this was my favorite.? Jim said this with some pride. ?Ms. Billington had a golden broom, and it really sucked. It was horrible, it was clearly put together at the last minute. Everyone was lined up ready to be judged and departed. However Barbara was no where to be seen.? Jim said this mysteriously trying to get some suspense in the atmosphere.
?The crowd became a cloud of gossip everyone couldn?t believe the rich witch elestist snob ice queen had not shown. The contestants urged to start, so each had a chance to win. It was nine forty-five, nine fifty-five, then ten o?clock. Barbara was disqualified and the parade began. The crowd and contestants were shocked, but also were glad. Everyone cheered in some pretend, all were in wonder where the nasty old baracuda had disapeared to.? Jim almost whispered. ?Billy Bob and the keg recieved the consalation prize, it was well deserved. Betty Lu took the second, and Ben Dover took the first, in some astonishment. Now everyone was glad but they all were a little anxious to find Barbara. They all new she wouldn?t have missed this for the world.? Jim again said this mysteriously. ?Betty Lu and Miss Daisy took a car to look for her at her house. Also a small group sent off to see the wicked witch. Betty Lu and Miss Daisy arrived first, and the first thing they saw was the float. It was truly magnificent, sure to be the winner again. The float had an angel suspended over a small blue plastic pond. Big puffs of white were situated around the float, they were the clouds. Then there was a rainbow that encircled the entire float.

After everyone got over the beauty of the float they decided to check the house for Barbara.? Jim said this very suspiciously. ?Well tell us what happened, don?t stall now!? the group pressured Jim. ?The little mob knocked on the door, no answer, the knocked again, still no answer. They then beat on the windows and yelled for her to answer the door. Still not a peep. Afer about an hour of looking and trying to get in the police were called. Barbara?s cars were all here, and there were not any new tire tracks. The police came, picked the lock and preceded into the house. They walked into the kictchen to find her body lying on the floor. The white linoleom floor was covered in blood. It was splattered all over the counter ,walls, and the floor. Her body lay in a pool of crimson blood. There was a bullet hole behind her right ear and the left half of her forehead was gon. Brains, blood, and all were splattered all over her beautiful kitchen.? Jim sorrowfully mentioned this. ?Well what happened?? The group inquired. ?Everyone looked at her in shock, horror, fear, and almost relief. The people all ran home as if to run waway from what they saw. The awkward little body in such a big kitchen.
The displacement of her in the huge house. The single person in a house fit for fifty. Truly she was out of place, she was so small trying to run something so big. She was out of place in her house, in the town, and out of place in the world. Every rubber-neck that went up there are now haunted day in and day out. Not a day goes by when they don?t see the mid frail body of the mid fifties woman. Her body like a limp noodle, soaked in blood. Half of her head was gone, her white dress with purple roses stitched on soaked in blood. The terrified look in her eye, the one that saw everybody with horror and shock. The one that never closed, but looked at everyone haunting them forever. The picture in everybody?s mind of the dead lady, laying on her kitchen floor for hours, lying there for the wrong cause. No matter how much everyone hated her no one knew why someone would to to such great lengths to kill her. Perhaps someone that wanted to win the parade, maybe the winner the parade, Ben Dover.? Jim explained this very sadfully. ?Come tell us hurry up we?re almost to the jail, what happened next?? the group tried to hurry jim. ?The police arrested all of the contestants and anyone else they thought could be tied to the murder.

The examined the site, questioned the suspects, and after weeks of searching they finally cracked the code and made an arrest. So now thy have their killer. We are here to find whou did it and maybe even why. As we gaze upon this concrete cell wonder why and who? So let?s take a gander.? Jim enthusiastically said. The grouped flocked to the cell, there was a small window at the top, and a box laying beneath it. Jim automatically ran over and jumped up to see, and as he gazed in he screamed, fell back, and almost began to weep. Everyone else then rushed up the window to see. The sight shcoked everyone, everyone sat down puzzled, perplexed, and quite disatisfied. The person int he cell sat there crying, it was a slener body hunched in the corner. Their knees were pulled to their chest, their head sunk between the knees. The head only looked up once to see who looked in through the window. The person wat with tears running down her face, shame in her eyes, and sorrowfulness in her face. She had a look like she wanter the floor to open adn swallow her, she just wanted to end her life right there in the cold cell. ?Why? Why? Why?? the grouped asked eachother. Betty Lu sat in that cell, the best friend, the person no thought was capable of doing such an awful thing. She must hav wanted to win the parade, which she didn?t, so the motive had to be different. She might have killed her to end hte misery for all. However everyone now knows who it is. She will only confess to the father of church, but no one will ever know why. No one will know because the next day when the chief went to get Betty Lu, she was gone, not a sight. There was no clue, or hint where she went, but the killer is gone forever.
