There are many interesting places in this world. Most of us will prefer beautiful place as Coliseum in Italy or Taj Mahal in India as their favourite place but I choose a tree house that I call “Kassim’s Palace”. It takes its named after the name of my late grandfather. This place is very meaningful to me because I have many memories with my grandfather at this place. The Kassim’s Palace is situated in the trees behind my grandfather’s house.
The Kassim’s Palace was built by my lovely grandfather when I was six years old. It was built by using wood. The walls of the tree house were painted brown as the colour of the trunk. When viewed from ground, the tree house looks like the branches of the tree. The roofs are made of zinc to avoid the rain to wet the resident. This tree house can accommodate one adult and one child.
Furthermore, this place has always been a fortress for me when my mother scolded me. I will hide here until the anger subside my mother. Grandpa is the salt of the earth. He was the only person who knows where I was hiding. When he found me, he will bring me home and asks me to apologize to my mother. Sometimes I would sleep in there and enjoy the sound of rain beats like bullets on the roof when it rains.
Besides, I like this place because it is unique. It is not just the usual tree house but unusual. There is a small-sized 14-inch television, a kitchen to cook, a fan that can be recharge and a single mattress in the tree house. Kassim’s Palace is small but has the equipment that is needed by its resident. One of best thing about this place is I can climb up to the top of the tree easily with the help of stairs that made to go to the tree house. When I climb to the top of the tree, I can see the sunrise and sunset which is so beautiful with the golden rays. I am over the moon to see the sights that can calm the soul from there.

At present, the Kassim’s Palace was old and almost collapsed. The roof has leaked and the paint on the walls has subdued. Since entering high school I no longer live in the Kassim’s Palace. However, I often visit the Kassim’s Palace. I stared at it with a feeling of considering childhood memory. Then, I remember the hard work of building it. The days are spent to complete it, the sweat produced by my grandfather while building it and I start to realise that the Kassim’s Palace is very precious to me.
One night I have dreamed that I meeting my grandfather. He is very sad to see that the Kassim’s Palace have been abandoned by his grandchildren. All his effort has ended in smoke. The Kassim’s Palace looks like not important to his grandchildren. When I wake up, I strive to repair the Kassim’s Palace. Then, I invite my family to repair Kassim’s Palace so that it can be used by others. Now, Kassim’s Palace has root replaced, new painted walls, necessities in the Kassim’s Palace supplied and new resident began to inhabit the place.
