Almost all of the form 5 students will do their revision during the Hari Raya holidays. They worry about their SPM examination and their future. But, it doesn’t work for me. I had spent my time with my family, friends and the computer. The meaning of a holiday in my opinion is an authority of rest for everyone to have a vacation. So, I left out all my stress and enjoyed my Hari Raya holidays.
My father had decided to celebrate this Hari Raya at Georgetown, Penang. We prepared ourselves early in the morning and started our journey. We took six hours to reach Penang and checked in into the resort. That was a good evening because we go to watch the sunset along the Batu Ferring Beach. Then we had our first dinner in Penang at the food court nearby. We had ordered the “Cha Kuih Teow” and the Penang laksa. These are the most popular local foods in Panang.
The next day, we visited the Buddhist Kek Lok Si Temple. We went up the hill by caber car. On the elevated platform, there was a tall statue of Kuan Yin and the other statuses of different Gods. This temple is a focal point of a festival of the Chinese community in Penang. The temple remains open until late at night whilst thousands of light turn the scenery in to a sea of light.
Third day in Penang, we went to the Penang Hill which is near the Kok Lok Si Temple. Penang Hill has a cooler environment. We went up the Penang Hill by the Penang Hill Railway from Ayer Hitam to the top of Flagstaff Hill. We could see the whole of Penang from the top of the Penang Hill. The fresh airs on top of the hill are good for our health. I liked the environment very much.
