Whole Person Leadership
Today the global environment and the business environment are increasingly more complex, turbulent and uncertain. In this environment, many of our old ways of thinking about governments, organizations, and leaders are outdated. We require new thinking, innovative solutions and a fundamentally new concept of leadership that can bring about profound and sustained change and successfully respond to the challenges of today.
Whole person leadership recognizes that effective leadership is based on self knowledge, self awareness as well as awareness of the external system in which we operate. On the on hand self knowledge begins with your ability to know and understand all aspect of yourself as a person, your emotional, cognitive, psychological and spiritual make-up and how they influence your behavior. This implies questioning and understanding your values, how you respond, think, and gather data, what your assumptions are about the world, yourself and others. This goes beyond the traditional focus on IQ and the external acts you “must do” and what you “must know”, to focus on you as a person, your character and the inner resources that you have. On the other hand, external awareness requires and understanding, awareness and interpretation of the external context that you find yourself in as a leader, and of how this influences your choices and enables purposeful action. To be in full alignment with ourselves as leaders we have to understand what actions to take, how these support our own values, what is important to us, and what we personally want to shape and contribute to our world.

Before you manage anything, you know what your abilities and skills to have a successful management. How you can manage a group if you don’t know yourself. To have an effective leadership we should knowledgeable and able manage a group. You should know your responsibilities as a leader so that the member of your group will also know their responsibilities. As a leader, it is important to be an open-minded because you are also handling your members. You need to be flexible to have a good relationship with your members.
