The muses sing of the greatest battle ever to occur in Olympian history. It started when Zeus, the king of the gods, sitting atop Mt. Olympus felt a strange presence. He stood up and looked across the great realm that was Earth. After concentrating for what seemed like millennia he spotted a rainbow. But, this was not Iris.
No, it was something else. An even greater rainbow that housed a great home, it housed other gods! Zeus concentrated even harder, and he finally saw that someone… was looking back at him! It was Odin! Father of the Norse gods and greatest of all Asgardians! They finally looked at each other and smiled like two foxes. They now knew what had to be done next. A battle! But not just any battle, the greatest of all battles to ever occur in Earth’s history. The outcome would proclaim which pantheon was the greatest, of all Midgard.
The rules were simple: Each king would choose three other gods or goddesses to fight. When one fell, the fight was over. Zeus and Odin immediately began searching for which god would best represent the power of each realm. Zeus thought long and hard over whom to choose. He did not know exactly whom Odin would choose so he had to choose wisely. Immediately he thought of the wisest of gods, Athena.
He knew that her power and tactics would be most valuable for the coming battle. Zeus also chose his son, Apollo. His power of the sun and healing abilities would be needed in the heat of combat. Finally Zeus had to one more slot to fill. But who to pick? Should it be the ferocity and blood lust of Ares? Or, the skill and vigor of Artemis. He knew that unyielding viciousness would be needed for combat, but calm and critical judgments would also be a key to victory.

In the end Zeus chose Ares over Artemis, hoping that his savagery would be enough to put down the Asgardians. Zeus had chosen his warriors, Athena, Apollo, Ares, and himself. The best of Olympus chosen, all that was left was for Zeus’s soldiers to train and prepare for the coming fight. Now it was Odin’s turn. Odin sat in his great hall, pondering which of Asgard’s great warriors would be chosen to represent the greatest of the Nine Worlds. He already knew that Thor was going to be amongst his soldiers.
The thunder god’s hammer and tenacity would be needed if Asgard stood a chance. The next god to be chosen would be Balder, the god of light, and his favorite son, surely Balder would be a perfect god to fight for Asgard. The third and final choice to join Odin’s ranks would have to be a god with tenacity and bravery that could withstand the force of any Olympian. Tyr, god of law and order would be the final choice to fill the All-father’s ranks. The soldiers picked, the warriors prepared, all that was left was for the signal to be known throughout the land. With a mighty heave, Odin flung his spear out onto the heavens and it landed on a location that stood at perfect center between Asgard and Mt.
Olympus. Zeus saw the call and was unafraid to answer it. The lines were drawn and both deities were ready to defend the honor of their respective homeland. All that was next was the battle of legends. Standing like giants in a sandbox, the gods were ready, each one eyeing the others opponent. Thor, most popular of the Norse gods, staring down Athena.
Athena, most beloved of Greece, smirking at Thor. Apollo and Balder, both gods of light, both the favorite son, and both ready for battle to see whom really rules the light of day. Ares, most ferocious of the Olympians, god of war stands opposite Tyr, god of law and order. Which will be the victor? Chaos and everlasting combat? Or order and direction? The clouds gathered around the gods as if a man were about to go insane. The winds raged as the first attack drew near. Thor shouted at Athena, “Have at thee!” as he charged towards her.
The Essay on God Vs Athena Sonal Relationship
God and Athena s Relationships With Man All across the world people have their own cultures, customs, and beliefs. A belief in a god or some superior deity is almost seen in every society in history. Of the most widely believed gods is the god mentioned in the Bible. Even though the God mentioned in the Bible is very impersonal, he still maintains a direct personal relationship with many of his ...
At first Athena was taken aback as Mjolnir struck her. But she regained her composure and quickly though of a strategy that could take out the thunder god. She flew further into the atmosphere to hide amongst the clouds. Thor, who only fought face to face was enraged, “come out you wench! Are you so frightened as to face the Odin son?” Although Thor could not see, he heard Athena’s laughter, she knew the quickest way to victory was to anger and confuse him. “You remind me of my brother Ares, quick to battle and slow to thought,” Athena said. “Perhaps he would be a better challenge? !” remarked Thor.
Just then a spear came from the clouds and knocked off Thor’s belt, which increased his strength. Now he was not as strong. Athena then flew out from the clouds and taunted Thor, “Ha! What is a god without his divine strength?” Thor, now even more angry replied, “I still have mine Uru hammer!” and he flung it toward her! Athena was far away enough to dodge it. Then, the goddess of defense and wisdom lunged toward Thor and began a barrage of attacks, which caused enormous amounts amount of divine energy to spill toward the Earth. Without his hammer and enchanted belt, Thor was no match for Athena and he fell.
Athena stood victorious over his body and said, “You may be a match for giants and trolls, but you are nothing when a god of Olympus stands before you!” Elsewhere stood Balder and Apollo, face to face. However both were not fighters, they were poets and healers. But, they knew that their realm must be defended. Both rode their chariots towards the sun where their power would be greatest. Each engaged at the same time throwing fireballs at each other but hoping not to seriously injure one another.
But, balder came from a land where battle was the norm. His accuracy was just a bit better than Apollo’s. He gathered an enormous fireball and heaved it toward Apollo. It hit his chariot and Apollo fell towards Earth unconscious. Balder quickly rode his chariot down to catch Apollo.
“Forgive me brother,” Balder said quietly. But, pieces of the fireball and even more energy from the battle spilled onto Earth. Now came the bloodiest fight of the whole battle. Instead of Tyr and Ares fighting directly, they sent soldiers of mortal men to fight each other. Ares’s troops representing blood and chaos, and Tyr’s soldiers representing order and law.
The Term Paper on God’s Existence
The issue that I shall be addressing is whether a certain objection to a theistic explanation of God’s existence can be sustained. In this paper, the objection in question is advanced mostly by naturalists, and the thrust of it is that theists cannot provide a satisfactory account of God’s existence based on causality because occasional philosophical questions arise concerning the truth of the ...
Thousands upon thousands of men fell to their deaths as blood spilled onto Midgard. Tyr, who loved man wept for the dead soldiers but kept pressing for them to fight on and defeat Ares. But Ares craved the battle. He did not care how many perished as long as they kept fighting and as long as more blood and death ravaged the land.
Finally, Tyr could no longer handle the destruction, he ordered his soldiers to stop. Ares laughed victoriously, his face was that of a demon, but his blood lust had not yet waned. He ran towards Tyr and began to pummel him until his body fell towards Earth. Even more divine energy spilled onto Earth as Tyr lay unmoving. All this energy was gathering and began to form something.
But that was of no concern to Zeus or Odin as the two battled, thoughts of anything else would only disturb their concentration. Both unyielding, both never stopping, both locked in combat for what seemed like forever. As the two fought, they also shouted insults at each other. “My son, Thor has probably laid waste to your foolish daughter,” shouted Odin. “Ha! When I have finished with you, I will show your son what it is to be the god of thunder!” replied Zeus. Their divine energy was the most powerful of all.
And it constantly spilled onto Midgard. All these energies combined were enough to wake the beast that came before the Nine Worlds… Ymir! The frost giant arose with new power, that of the gods from the Norse, and the power of those from Greece! This threat was greater than both pantheons combined and both sides knew that the defeat of Ymir would have to come before any battle between them. Odin signaled Balder to heal Thor, Apollo, and Tyr. While Zeus told Ares and Athena of the problem. He asked Athena to think of a strategy to defeat the monster.
But, Ares would not listen, “Bah! I will tackle this beast without any help!” As he charged towards Ymir, the frost giant just swatted him down as if he were a fly. With all the gods now healed it was up to the remaining five to stop the beast and restore the Nine Worlds to what they were before. Athena’s strategy was rather simple, she signaled Apollo and Balder to fly up to the sun and use its power to blind Ymir. When Ymir was blinded, Thor and she would attack from different ends to throw the giant off balance.
The Essay on Zeus And Odin Gods God One
Zeus and Odin Zeus is the ruler of the Greek gods. He is the son of Cronos and Rhea, in fact the only son of these two to survive to adulthood. Zeus had been hidden by Rhea so that Cronos would not swallow him like he had all of his other offspring; he had been warned that one of his children would eventually overthrow him. Rhea sent Zeus to the island of Crete where he was raised. Zeus eventually ...
The plan worked! And the final blow would come from both Zeus and Odin; they were to hurl their spears and thunderbolts at the giant to finally kill him. With Ymir dead, the gods used their power to restore Ymir back into the Nine Worlds, but this time they took his eyebrows and divided them onto seven parts, which would later be known as continents. The gods agreed that only their respective lands and worshipers could determine which pantheon was greater and only time and history could know the victor. Odin and Zeus shook hands and knew that they were both equals because of their undying force on the battlefield. And so concludes the story of how the seven continents were formed..
